I never had any plans, to own this shoe.
In my own words,
“I am so in love with this shoe. Sadly, the 4″ heel is about 1/2″ too high for me – a deal killer. Of all the shoes I tried on, this was my favorite. If I thought I could last more than an hour in it, it would be in my collection. For you gals who love a heel – this is a great shoe. It is a bit of a hassle to lace up (no zipper), but boy does it look great on the foot”. Read the full post HERE.
Even if I’d had second thoughts, it sold out in my size.
But, I couldn’t stop thinking about this little guy, and all the fun outfits I could create, with just this one shoe.
In the meantime, I purchased this shoe (which by the way is a gorgeous shoe, and super comfortable).
Upon brining it home, I quickly realized it was too similar to a pair of Kork Ease I own from a few seasons back, as well as my Coach wood platform wedges.
Cut-to, I found myself back again, in the shoe department at Nordstrom.
Still on the hunt for a 70’s style cognac colored sandal, I tried on this pair from Ivanka Trump,
Super comfortable, and everything I was looking for, until…
as I was walking around, giving it a final test drive, I asked a salesperson, did they happen to have the Dolce Vita Lyndon in my size. She thought it was gone, but said she’d run and check.
Lo and behold, out she comes with this shoe, in my size.
I had to at least give it another try.
As much as I liked the Ivanka Trump wedge, I loved this one more – and the height didn’t seem to bother me this time around.
Great news – the Lyndon is now fully back in stock online!
Here’s a look at how I wore them, this past Sunday for Easter brunch and dinner – all day long!
Dolce Vita ‘Lyndon’ sandal and LOFT dress (older season).
The weather was a gorgeous, but knowing I’d get cold later,
I added my Joe’s Jeans denim jacket.
My Isabella Fiore tote bag, matched my shoes, spot on.
I decided to keep the jewelry simple, as to not take away from all the color and pattern of the dress. I wore my Gorjana ‘Tanner’ pendant (similar), Gorjana cuff (similar), and liquid layered gold ring from Alexis Bittar (exact here).
Bet you didn’t know I owned a second pair of sunglasses! As much as I love my Tory Burch Aviators, I thought these oversized sunnies from Kate Spade worked better, with this fun dress.
My toes were desperately in need of a pedicure, so let’s just skim over the chipped green polish!
My final thoughts. For me, this shoe, is not the pair you’ll see me in, while chasing the kids or walking San Fransisco Union Square shopping with my girlfriends. However, when I look at what outfits I want to wear these sandals with, those particular outfits are not going to be heading to those places anyway . Not every shoe is for very occasion, and I’m thrilled that I pulled the trigger on this one! I hope you like them, you’ll be seeing lots of them this summer and spring, on AskSuzanneBell!
