In today’s fashion spotlight, from sarongs to sparkly flip flops, I’m sharing a few pieces I’m coveting right now. Looking for creative ways to make the most of your time in the summer sun? Look no further than Target, for some of the best outdoor accessories to liven up your outdoor spaces. While taking a break from blogging this past week, I came across many blogs (some old, some new to me) and platforms offering support along the anti-racism path, as well as brands and retailers who share a common passion for change. I’ve highlighted a few in today’s post – stay tuned for more.
I’m so grateful you stopped by today! What do you say we check out this week’s Friday Favorites, featuring 10 things to love right now.
1. St. Jazmin Sarongs @SarongSocialClub | Instagram (HERE), ETSY (HERE)
Jazmin designs one of a kind sarongs and accessories – perfect for summertime. I wear my St. Jazmin Sarong so many ways, here’s just a few ideas:
- Over a swimsuit
- Over a dress
- Over a skirt
- Over pull-on flare jeans
- As a scarf
- As a wrap
2. Isle Jacobsen ‘Cheerful’ Flip Flop | Amazon (HERE)
I love the glittered thong strap and heavily-textured footbed and outsole on this “dressy” flip flop. I just bought my 4th pair in “grey” which looks great with denim and more. Also available at Millie Mango in Burlingame.
3. Invisibobble Hair Ties | Nordstrom (HERE)
What it is: Stretchy hair ties that look like a retro phone cord place even pressure around the circumference of your ponytail in order to minimize breakage and crimping. I love these for keeping my bun in place. I just ordered (THIS) 3-Pack ($8.00) in gold – how fun are these for summertime?
4. Auden Racerback Bralette | Target (HERE)
Summer dressing comes with it’s own set of wardrobe challenges – specifically, what to wear UNDERNEATH all of the gorgeous, light-weight, strappy tops and dresses the warm weather brings. At $12.99, (THIS) bralette is a Big Bang for your fashion buck. I found it to run true to size.
5. Coobie Bralette | Amazon (HERE)
The Coobie bra comes in a wide range of colors, making it easy to match the bra strap to your top of dress. Available in a convertible style, $19.95 | HERE, as well as a lace back style | HERE.
6. Yellow Impatiens
Have you ever seen yellow impatiens? OH MY GOSH, they are stunning! If you are looking for a unique color/texture plant combination to add to your border or post, consider adding FUSION Exotic Impatiens in ‘Glow Yellow”(more HERE). I paired them with coral pink begonias, yellow tipped Hedera Helix Ivy, and “Fluffy Ruffles” Nephrolepis exaltata fern – from Summerwinds Nursery.
7. Outdoor Patio Accessories from Target Home
More time spent at home prompted me to re-vamp my outdoor living spaces. After power-washing the patios and furniture, the fun part of selecting outdoor accessories happened. After spending hours looking for cushions, rugs and accessories – I found myself ordering everything I needed from Target. Here’s a look at my refreshed morning coffee spot!

For the past three months we have been subjected to mostly bad news…every single day! It has been truly exhausting and draining at times. My tendency to cope with bad news is to push through and try and stay positive, but over the past two weeks, I’ve felt a responsibility to be fully aware of what’s going on. To give myself space to listen, reflect, and better understand the struggles that our Black brothers and sisters are confined to daily, I took a break from blogging and posting on social media. As a White woman, it is impossible for me to fully understand what is means to be a Black woman in our society today, but, I can listen, learn, empathize, be an example to my children through my actions and words, and use my platform to share helpful links from women who’s blogs or platforms I’ve found to offer support along the anti-racism path, as well as brands and retailers who share a passion for change. The list is long and evolving, here’s a look at today’s highlights – stay tuned for more.
8. Valle Road
Many of you know and love Jenafer Grace as the designer of beautiful pieces like the kimono I’ve featured many times here on AskSuzanneBell.com (read more HERE | HERE| HERE). What you may not know, is that Jenafer, along with a couple of friends, started up a project, with a mission to “express ourselves with witty graphic tees, using only local manufacturing and give back to a different fun charity per each collection.” “Our first collections were a success and we were able to raise money for multiple organizations. As the world became increasingly heavier, we pondered more ways that we can help…”
The Valle Road project now has its’ own shoppable website (HERE) focused on giving, where they announced on social media this past Wednesday, proceeds for all sales at Valle Road Collective (HERE) will be distributed equally between the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Black Visions Collective.
I just ordered the “No Social Graces” Tunic (HERE) – and how fun are (THESE) drink kits? Browse and shop the Valle Road witty tee collection (HERE).

9. Kanesha Baynard | Bold Living Today
“Understand the work of anti-racism. This is a lifestyle. It is not a trend and it’s not simply a hashtag. Accelerate your anti-racism education without making any excuses.” – Kanesha Baynard

So many great things in one post, Suzanne! I still need to find my sarongs and style them. I have two really gorgeous ones that a dear friend brought back from Africa for me when she was in the peace corps over 20 years ago. I have always cherished those sarongs and even more so since my friend passed away 7 years ago. I am heading over to read Kanesha’s post now! Thanks for linking up with me!
