I just checked, 3,446 pairs of booties on Zappos, 2,130 pairs of at Nordstrom.com, 483 pairs at Bloomingdales – the list goes on. Booties are everywhere right now, because they are so versatile! Available in everything, from a 1″ heel to sky high, these short boots work with everything from skirts and dresses to denim, crop pants and trousers. You name it, there is a bootie to pair with it! A sleek black pair looks fab for a night out or work, where as a casual distressed or suede pair will take you everywhere you need to be, from school pick-up to lunch with friends.

The possibilities are endless, but where’s a girl to begin?
Before we get started, I need to let you all know about Saks Fifth Avenue Friends and Family Event on now! This promo is site wide, some items are excluded, but it’s big! 25% off most everything and 20% off jewelry (some designers are excluded). I did a quick scan and the event includes premium denim (25% off!), jewelry (including Alexis Bittar), plus I noticed it includes already reduced sale! Looking for a fab plaid shirt? All “Rails” shirts are 25% off as well HERE
I did pick up THIS pair of Hudson jeans, and THIS James Perse tee – both items that I have been doing the sale dance for – at the 25% off promo price.
Code THANKYOU gets you the 20-25% off your purchase and FREESHIP gets you free shipping!
Now, let’s get back to booties!
I pulled out a few of my favorites, each different in their own right, and how I’d wear them.
Vince Camuto ‘Hillsy’
This flattering bootie has been popping up lately all over Instagram, on chic fashion bloggers, for a good reason. Super versatile – it can be worn with everything from dresses to skinnies. The front “v” cut makes it oh-so- flattering on the leg, making it a winner if you plan to wear it with dresses and skirts. It also works well with crops.
I love the look of the ‘Harrow’ boot from Rag and Bone,
available in 5 colors
Same versatility as the boot above, higher price point.
I love Cole Haan booties, and the ‘Minna’ has a similar look to the ‘Harrow” boot above, without the “v” cutout.
SALE ALERT! The Cole Haan ‘HAYES’ ankle boot is on promo at Saks HERE , as well as the ‘DEY’ bootie (fabulous!) HERE
and a similar look for less,
Ivanka Trump ‘Filoer’ Bootie
in 3 colors
For a bootie with a lower heel and minimalist look, the Sam Edelman Chelsea ‘Petty’ Bootie is a winner!
Available in 9 colors, plus little and big kid sizes.
with fur
A low profile, low heel bootie; I love this paired up with skinny jeans, tapered pants and longer skirts.
Here’s a look at it on:
and on the darling gals (Petty on right) at Pacific Trading Company, in Capitola,CA.
Note how the darling gal on the left, is wearing a heeled, different shaped bootie, that flatters her harem pants. Her style of boot is more flattering with her outfit, than the “Petty” bootie would be- great picks ladies!

I’ve been on the hunt for a sleek black pair for myself, something like this pair from Prada,
Block Heel, $950 HERE
or this pair from Jimmy Choo
‘Hart’, $995.00 HERE
I would pair a sleek ankle boot like this, with a skirt or dress of any length, add black tights for warmth. I think the pointed toe looks fab with flares, boot cut and straight leg jeans. This style of boot works for day or night – work or play – it’s a bit dressier and more polished than it’s casual friends above.
Like this look?
I found some similar looks, for less,
Vince ‘Edith’ pointy toe boot
Tory Burch ‘Devon’ bootie
Tory Burch ‘Junction’ bootie
Seychelles ‘Accordian’ Bootie
I like this pair as well, from Neiman Marcus Last Call,
Donald Pliner ‘Sesso’ bootie
And just for fun, I think this bootie is fabulous!
COACH ‘Felicia’ studded bootie

My advice, with all of the amazing options out there?
Pop back into your closet and take a look at what you wear. Do you wear more dresses and skirts? Are you a casual dresser? Do you have nighttime looks, but are missing a sleek boot to pair with those looks? Do you like a low or high heel? What do you wear, day to day?
Since most of us will not be investing in every look out there, do a quick needs assessment – before shopping.
Is your look mostly casual, but you’d like a boot to wear out in the evening? Perhaps invest in your casual everyday boot, then pick up the sleek A+ Aldo boot, for under $50.oo for date nights.

Have a great week!
