The results from my 5 Day Blowout Challenge are here! How I made mine last, plus a must have busy girl essential: dry shampoo. I’ve got some fabulous faux fur from our friends over at Target, plus a link-up to some fun party attire, for those events on your list!
5 Day Blowout Challenge
Note: this post is not sponsored by Halo Dry Bar. This challenge was created and funded by me. All opinions here are my own.
I treat myself to a blowout at the Dry Bar during the Holidays, mostly to save myself the time of fussing with my hair. I look at my calendar to see what week is the craziest, as far as places I need to be. I then book an appointment, at the start of Week One Crazy. I have to say, it is pretty awesome to not have to deal with my hair for a week. Sure, I could pull it pack into a ponytail, but it’s the holidays…why not go a little crazy?
So can a drybar blowout really last 5 days?
True answer. With the right stylist, a little TLC and some dry shampoo..yes! Heck, I stretched mine to 6, by adding a ponytail!
Tip #1 – dry shampoo
I like Furterer Dry Shampoo (HERE) and Klorane (HERE)
Tip #2: when not in use, keep hair in a loose high ponytail – to preserve volume and curls!
(be prepared for kids and hubby, to think this is kinda strange)

AskSuzanne Bell Holiday Gift Guide
Many bloggers have created fabulous gift guides this month, many sponsored by retailers with affiliate links. I don’t plan to link up 100 gifts for you here as a blog post (only so many days before Christmas), but, I do pin all my gift ideas to my Pinterest Board Great Gifts to Give and Get (HERE). It’s basically a gift guide (and more), with 100 pins and growing. It’s just not organized in a pretty square, and posted here as a blogpost. Check it out if you are in need of some fresh new ideas! I update the board almost daily.

Hi Suzanne! I usually wash mine after 3 days, but for fun (and lack of hours in the day) I decided to see how long I could go. I do believe the stylist makes a huge difference. My girlfriend had an appointment right after me, and she didn’t wash hers for 5 days. Maybe the type of product or technique. Either way, this gal is my new go-to! Thank you for writing that great post on holiday skirts, gorgeous! And your Etsy shop right now is fabulous! xx
Love all the great info! Happy Holidays!
Hi Debby! You bet! Thanks for dropping a line! I hope you are finding some time to enjoy the Holidays! xx
What a great post! I find that if the stylist doesn’t use much conditioner and NO styling products I can get more traction out of a blowout….but SIX days is amazing!!!
I love your outfits too–you always look gorgeous! XO Susan http://www.themidlifefashionista.com
Hey Susan! Thanks for stopping by! I surprised myself with the 6 days. I think you are right about the no product and the light conditioner, makes sense! I used much less spray this time (but did use the dry shampoo). I didn’t use any texturizing spray till day 3, that may have helped as well. Happy Weekend! xx
Wow – great job, and your hair looks lovely every day! Thanks for linking up, xo

I’m dying over your day 6 look! So cute. I agree…i can accomplish a lot when fixing washing my hair is not a daily task
Hi Shelly! Thanks for dropping a comment! Isn’t it funny how that works? Plus I get an extra hour of work in, while sitting in the chair! Have a great weekend! xx
How fun …. your hair looks wonderful every single day!
