Would you say you’re a by-the-book recipe follower, or a throw in a little of this and that and see what unfolds?
Me? I’m a little of both, depending on which way the wind blows. For baking, I know in my heart I need to stick to a recipe or my cookies will be a flat mess. But throw a pasta dish at me and you never know what you’re gonna get – I love to get crazy with spices, and watch out if I’m not wearing my glasses! But isn’t experimenting part of the fun?
Same goes with outfits. Someday’s I opt for the perfect pairing, but watch out when I’m feeling creative – like my pasta sauce, you never know what you’ll get! Today’s pieces involved a tribal print dress (or is it a tunic?) and a pair of fabulous white crop jeans with; wait for it…pom poms on the hem!!! Better yet, both pieces were picked up at last months clothing swap with friends. This particular day I wanted to wear BOTH pieces and since I couldn’t pick just one piece to style, I threw caution to the wind and opted to wear them together! Feeling on the wild side, I opted for bohemian jewelry; a layered tassel necklace from Anthropologie and bracelet stacks on BOTH arms. My Calypso for Target market bag was in keeping with the tribal theme, simple block heel mules grounded the look, and let the pom poms do the talking.
And can we talk about these jeans? I am loving embellished jeans this season and these you could totally DIY! Do you like them? Grab a pair of white jeans that you like the fit of, crop ’em if need be and attach a row of pom poms to the hem. Instant update. You’re welcome!

There was a time when every jean i owned had trims on them …that time was in the 70”s protracted fromthe 60’s. Patches over wornout places and diy trims on the hems …i don’t know if you could actually buy them that way…maybe or maybe not..it looks retro now and it is sure easy to do and undo if you change your mind. The pom poms are a fun flair…creative repurposed clothes are always a good idea. I like your combo…i even had lampshades with pom poms on them . Word of caution,Pompoms can be catagious…
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by Mom! Funny enough, I totally remember you wearing pom pom’s AND embellished pants! 60’s, 70’s love them all! Thinking I need to find more ways to attach those contagious pom poms to more pieces! xx Suzanne
Love these two pieces together! I think I would wear them like this but truth be told sometimes i get a bit stuck, must think more pom poms and fun things!
Have a great rest of the week!

Thank you Helen! Yes it is so easy to get stuck in a rut. When I am stumped, I grab one of the pieces in my closet I’d like to wear, then pretend that I am in a boutique (AKA my closet) and try to pair it up with a piece I have not worn with it before. Then I challenge myself to accessorize it with accessories that are not my every day go-to pieces. It takes a bit more time to coordinate the look, but certainly less time then heading out to the mall to look for a new look! enjoy the weekend Helen! xx Suzanne
