So, I took a week off from blogging to get my closet back in shape. And between purging of pilled sweaters and pre-pandemic shrunken skinny jeans (ugh!), to forcing myself to “try-on” anything and everything that was to re-enter the closet, this was no easy feat. I made a promise to myself that there was to be no shopping for anything new, until my closet was clean, organized, and I was clear on what I already owned.
Four donation, and three Consignment bags later; I’m happy to say, my closet is now in a workable state, and ready for a new season. Feeling overwhelmed with your own closet and not sure where to begin? (PRESS HERE) to read my post, 5 Simple Steps to Overhauling your Wardrobe, and get started!
TIP: Sometimes it helps to offer yourself a reward upon completion of a project, and my prize was to be in the form of a cashmere sweater set (wink, wink!)
BACK TO TODAY’S POST… Outside of sweatpants and every version of Birkenstock, I can’t say I’ve been thrilled with what the fashion world has been offering up the past few seasons, but I see that changing. I’m starting to see new silhouettes and fresh styles emerging, along with color! And with my closet thinned out, there are few things I’d like add to my closet to bring it up to a post-lockdown workable wardrobe. Some of these pieces I’ve bought, some are on my wish list, here’s a look at what I’m loving right now.
I just bought (THIS) cashmere cami in black and white and would purchase all 4 colors if my budget allowed. I plan to wear the black cami under my cardigans; with jeans and mules or lug sole boots. That said, a piece like this would layer under, and with, just about anything.

I love the idea of sets, so I purchased (THIS) cashmere ribbed cardigan in black to wear with my cashmere cami. I loved this cardigan in the cream color as well. Similar idea on sale at JCrew (HERE)| Anthropologie (HERE)
Crossbody bags just keep getting better, and more functional. The MZ Wallace Metro Crossbody has been on my wishlist for sometime now. Available in black + 3 colors, + check out the mini version (HERE).

If you’re looking for something a but more luxe, I’m obsessed with (THIS) new crossbody bag by Rag and Bone. The olive green suede is so gorgeous in person and the orange offers a fabulous pop of color. Also available in black or brown leather.
While returning a few pre-closet clean out purchases that I did not need, (THIS) fabulous poncho caught my eye from the up-escalator at Nordstrom. Like a scarf, but even more functional, I thought she was a big bang for the fashion buck at under $80. One Size, available in red or grey, with a front zip and cozy sweater neck, at Nordstrom (HERE). I purchased this in the red combo.

The color of (THIS) coat is what got me to pull out my credit card, and it clearly had the same emotional effect on others, as today, it is now sold out. I’m sharing the link and details in the event you love it as much as I did and being it is early in the season hopefully they restock it. Madewell has a great selection of coats and shirt jackets right now with promo code ‘GOSPREE’ giving you up to 30% off. (PRESS HERE) to shop all outerwear at Madewell.
Sadly, the ‘Charlie’ Barrel jean from Veronica Beard was just a bit to “full” in the leg, and too short in the rise (crotch area) for me (read more on Barrel jeans here), so I’m still on the look out for a 80’s inspired “non-mom” type jean to add to my denim collection. Here’s a look at Madewell’s take on the “balloon” jean. At $150 less than V.B. ($278 vs $128), with some stretch for comfort, this jean is a good value of style + comfort. With Madewell jeans I will sometimes size down, which I did with this style. Shop all available washes (HERE)

An easy to wear silhouette, I think this would be so cute under a puffer vest, jeans and short lug sole boots. Now on super sale-on-sale at Madewell (PRESS HERE)
Another new jean silhouette worth taking look at is the ‘Mayslie’ jogger jean by Paige Denim (Press HERE). I lived in this jean all summer long in white. She’s comfortable, flattering and super easy to dress up and down. So if you are looking to get out of your sweatpants, maybe consider giving this a try on. Feeling frisky? I’m loving the ‘Mayslie’ jogger in coated denim for an elevated “leather” look. Try it out on sale in the grey color (40% off HERE). These ran true to my regular Paige jean size.
I love my packable puffer from Madewell (older style), so I was thrilled to see that Free People just came out with their version in 10 fun colors! (PRESS HERE) to view the Pippa Packable Parka.
Most of us have become experts on joggers over the past 1 1/2 years, but in the event you are looking for a pair that is sustainable, washes well, holds it’s shape & color (even in black), AND is flattering; my hands-down favorite is (THIS) french terry pair by Cuyana. I pair mine with (THIS) crop french terry sweatshirt for in, and out of the house – I’ve even worn this set with a scarf and lug sole boots to dinners out.
Under $100, now in 8 colors, I buy my regular size in both pieces.

For an alternative to the crop sweatshirt, I’m love (THIS) new french terry long cardigan, also from Cuyana, available in 4 colors.
The Gucci Princetown Loafer Mule has proved to be a classic year-after-year, but at $800, it’s not a match for everyone’s shopping budget. Luckily, this easy-to-style is available at every price point for just about every budget, take a look.

What’s on your list right now?
Have a fabulous weekend ladies!
