As promised, I’ve got some outfits to share! Working with my Casual Summer Capsule Wardrobe, I’ve got 15 different casual, everyday outfits, all created out of remixing the 35 pieces in my Casual Capsule. This experiment has been super fun, and enlightening. Getting dressed, for everyday activities, has never been so easy. Not one day, did I wear my yoga pants – all day long. That said, I have no problem if you choose to do so. I just personally feel better, if I get dressed for the day – plus my yoga attire is not all that cute.
I made a few tweaks to my capsule as well.
Returned:
(2) bottoms back to the store, that I found I was not gravitating toward (and my kids said I could do better).
Added:
(1) Marc Jacobs utility skirt (ThredUp)
(1) Enza Costa Denim Maxi Skirt | HERE
My new skirts have not yet arrived – so stay tuned. I also liked this denim maxi skirt, HERE and this one over at the Gap, HERE
I also pulled 2 pairs of shorts out of the re-sale pile. It was so hot, and I now had tops to wear with them. Back in the closet they came.
I’m committed to documenting and sharing this experiment for at least 30 days. Luckily, it’s summertime and my kids are patient, and willing to help me out.
If you are just catching up, and have no clue what I am talking about, check out my Capsule Wardrobe Post, HERE.
Here’s a look at my first 15 days of outfits, in order of when I wore them.
My favorite outfit, this month so far?
I love THIS tee from Rag and Bone – mostly for the fit. Shows some shoulder – but isn’t sloppy like many are (which includes one hanging in my closet from Velvet. It’s the stripe tee in the photos above. I like it for what it is, but this black tee is more polished – and no bra reveal). This faux wrap skirt is now under $50.00 over at Anthropologie, HERE. Paired with my Dolce Vita Lace-up sandals – also now on sale HERE. The ‘Linsey’ is also available on sale over at Bloomingdales.
I’ve also gotten a lot of use out of THIS lace-up tee, from Brass Plum.
$34.00 | in 3 colors | Nordstrom | I also like THIS stripe version, now on sale $20.40.
Anyone else trying out the idea of a capsule wardrobe?
How about a partial capsule, where you only apply the concept to your packing strategy, or season?
Do you have a favorite, from the 15 outfits above?
As long as my kids hang in there, I’ll have another 15 days of looks, coming up after month end.
Hope you all are enjoying every moment of summertime!
XOXO
Suzanne
A quick note: “Blogs I Read” has been added back onto Ask Suzanne Bell. This is a list of blogs I personally follow, not all, but regulars. This page automatically updates – whenever the author posts something new. Therefore the most current post lands at the top. My hope is that this new format makes it easy, so you don’t have to hunt around for your favorites. While you are here visiting, you can simply pop on over and see what’s new out in the world of blogging. Not all are fashion or style blogs, you may just find one you love!

Great outfits, suzanne! the black top is really nice. Shows the perfect amount of shoulder!
i have been working on putting together a travel capsule wardrobe and in the process have been wearing it for the past weeks, so it’s really becoming a summer capsule wardrobe… it’s so nice to have pieces that work together!
Hi Andrea! Thank you! I saw you were working on a fun capsule for your UPCOMING vacation! I love when I go on vacation and only have the pieces I brought with me, to work with each day – makes getting ready such a breeze. Makes sense it would apply to at home as well. I love fashion too much to apply the CONCEPT to my entire closet, but I sure have enjoyed it this summer so far. I love having pieces that work together, and I find when I shop, I am much more focused. I hope to reduce the “closet orphans” down to zero – I’m getting there! XOXO
