With some fun holiday events to attend this past week, I took my own advice from this weeks post, Stay Sane and Enjoy the Holidays (HERE)…and did a little of my own outfit planning.
Aside from all the usual stuff that fills my days, I had few Holiday events on the calendar this week:
Wednesday: Holiday Lunch
Thursday: Ladies Holiday Luncheon and Boutique
Friday: AM work meetings, with Mom’s Birthday Lunch in the afternoon, and boatloads of errands in between
Wednesday
My plan for Wednesday; a knit tunic dress, tights and OTK boots. I needed to be able to go from work to lunch, then to kid pick up all in one outfit. Luckily, I tried this look on in advance, as the OTK boots I had ordered (and not tried on yet), looked like Jack Sparrow had walked on the set. So back they’ll go, luckily I had my tall boots refurbished earlier this season, ready and willing to step in as a back-up plan.
Outfit Details: DVF wool knit tunic dress (ThredUp) | Paul Green tall boots | Hue opaque tights | Young Villagers slouchy tote | necklace and bead bracelets (boutique)
Despite the rainy, cold weather; I was able to go from lunch, work, to kid pickup – all in one comfortable, stylish outfit.
As it cooled off in the later afternoon, I layered on this red cocoon coat (one of my favorites, especially on dreary days).
The wide armholes, allow me to layer this bell sleeve tunic, under the coat.
Coat: Corey Lynn Calter | Anthropologie, older style
Thursday
Thursday morning/afternoon ladies lunch is an event I look forward to each year. A “girls” lunch, I love to wear something fun and festive, different than what I would wear every day around town. I decided to wear a fluted midi skirt that I had picked up Black Friday at Nordstrom, from Opening Ceremony (HERE), with a vintage “Chanel Like” pink tweed jacket. Good thing I gave this outfit a trial run, as one of the buttons on the jacket was literally dangling by a string. Had I waited till the day of the event, I may have had to make an outfit change, as the dangling button would have been an issue…#TryingToReduceStressNotAdd
Outfit Details: Midi skirt, Opening Ceremony (HERE) | tank, Theory | cap toe pumps, Prada | tweed jacket (vintage) | fur bag, boutique
Friday
For Friday’s outfit, comfortable shoes were a must. A fully booked day, I needed to by all over the place – thus no time for outfit changes. From work in the AM, meeting up with Mom at the new Anthro for her Birthday Lunch, to driving the kids around after school, to doctor appointments and random Friday errands in between; comfort today was key. The weather forecast was cold in the morning with warmer temperatures in the afternoon – layers were essential!
Outfit Details: Midi Skirt, same skirt I wore to the luncheon the day before (I LOVE this skirt!!) #newfavorite | Twilight Ivy by Deletta cold shoulder sweatshirt, Anthropoloie, now an extra 40% off the sale price (linked in this post). Sold out online, but may be available in stores, Similar, Similar, Similar|, Vanelli metallic boots (reviewed here) | Banana Republic Fur vest, similar HERE

Here’s the same sweatshirt, worn with denim on Tuesday, and with a skirt, Friday . And my new fave skirt, dressed up on Thursday, dressed down on Friday.
