In need of an Anthro fix, I made a trip over to my local store to check out the Fresh Cuts and take a peek at their selection of shirtdresses.
I struck out on the above, but I did find a few items to try on while I was in the store.
Let’s take a look at what made into the dressing room:
Hooded Salema Cardigan | Moth | $148.00 HERE
This is a fun lightweight cardigan for spring and summertime. I love the colors with denim and white and am a sucker for anything with a hood. Crochet details, long length – this could double over a swimsuit. True to size.
Terrace Pullover | Moth | $118.00 | available in wine (not in my store) and ivory | regular and petite HERE
I am kinda into this layered sweater look. In fact, I had just come from lunch with a girlfriend who was wearing one that she had purchased in a boutique – it was so cute with the jeans and flats that she was wearing.
The Terrace Pullover was not a great fit on me, in my opinion it was too short. Keep in mind, I have this problem with lots of tops and I this is why I tend to gravitate toward longer styles. This sweater has good reviews and was displayed all over the store so they must be fond of it. This is a small and I could have sized up to a medium.
I also tried on this layered sweater which I liked better for me, as you can see it is longer,
Trinity Layered Sweatshirt | $88.00 HERE
Great reviews on this one. I like the length and the quality of this top. It is a sweatshirt with the shirt sticking out without the bulk of having to layer the two. I like the lace detail on the side – so Anthro! Cute with jeans, shorts or a skirt. Here I am wearing a medium as they didn’t have a small for me to try on. I think I would go with the medium though as it felt comfortable.
How cute is she?
Great reviews on this one – on my wish list!
I didn’t see this one in the store, but spotted it online HERE
Jungle Ruffle Pullover | Moth | $98.00
Chambray Anorak | Marrakech | $148.oo | available in chambray and moss (not in the store) regular and peitite HERE
This is a lightweight anorak, versatile and perfect for spring. I like the length and the versatility of this jacket. Only the chambray was available to try on in the store but I like the moss as well. I see this piece going with just about anything. Ran true to size, with 5 star reviews.
Moss color version
I am often asked where I bought my military jacket pictured above. Top left is Rag and Bone | bottom left is Blanc Noir both sold out at Nordstrom. I thought this jacket in moss might fit the bill for those of you looking for a lightweight army green type jacket.
Draped Daytripper Trench | Eleveness | $158.00 | regular and petite HERE
I am loving the unstructured trench trend that is happening this season. I fell in love with this particular style for color and style as soon as I saw it in the spring catalog. This is the type of piece I wear over and over again. For me I have a similar style that I recently purchased from Haute Hippie, otherwise this would have come home with me. I see wearing this with anything from denim to maxi dresses and jumpsuits. It’s the perfect spring topper and can be dressed up or down. Ran true to size in my opinion.
I am also on the hunt for a pair of cropped destroyed jeans. I like the ones where the bottom hem is unfinished.
I am still looking, but these are on my list as possible options.
Mother Dropout Jeans | $228.00 HERE
I tried these on in my regular size. They fit a bit loose but if I were to purchase them I would get them in my regular size so they would hang correctly as a relaxed fit. These are super soft and really comfortable. Lightweight for spring and summer – I liked these.
AG Stevie Slim Straight Cuffed Jeans | $198.00 | regular and petite HERE
This pair was tighter on me than the Mother jean, more like a skinny. I like the cuff on the bottom of these and I think these would be cute with everything from a tunic to a tucked in relaxed tee. They were a titch tight, but as I walked around I could tell they would stretch so I would go with my regular size in these as well.
These last two items the sales gal brought into the dressing room for me to try on.
Vanda Tank |HD in Paris | $78.00 | available in white, black plus 2 colors HERE
I never would have grabbed this top off the rack
(1) because I rarely wear blue
(2) it looks like nothing special on the hanger
When I tried it on though I realized that it is the perfect spring/summer top. I like the length, it is longer in the back and plenty long to cover gaping jeans. It can be worn tucked in or out, with a skirt or pants, dressed up or down. The pleating and layered hem make it more special than just another top. I tired on my regular size small in this one. On my wish list in the black color.
Railroad Stripe Jacket | Pilcro | $138.00 | in regular and petite HERE
If you are looking for an update to your denim jacket, this is a winner! I am wearing a size small in the photos and the arms are a bit tight, not sure enough that I would size up though as I don’t like it when jean jackets are too boxy. I like the fit, length and subtle stripe on this jacket. I am wearing a small here.
Button Pleat Shirtdress | Isabella Sinclair | $148.00 | in regular and petite HERE
This dress looks terrible on me, I know. As I mentioned I was on the hunt for a cute shirtdress. I included it here because the gal in the dressing room next to me was trying it on and it was so cute! Now I am 5’6″ and she was maybe 5′ and she was going to wear it as a dress. On me it is clearly a big miss, but if you are shorter than I maybe give it a try. It would be cute unbuttoned with a pair of flat silver modernist sandals for an easy out the door look. Styled right, it would be cute on the right person -that person is not me!
Check out how cute it is styled on this gal found on Pinterest
