It’s no secret, I am not the most brand loyal shopper. I shop everywhere from consignment stores and Target to Neiman Marcus and boutiques – and when I find a great product at my local Walgreens, I gotta share!
Here’s a few products, tried and true, tucked away at your local drugstore!
L’oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur
Instant Skin Smoother | Finishing cream | SPF30
On sale now $19.99 HERE
I read about this product in a magazine, (can’t remember which) claiming it erases the look of wrinkles, lines and pores.
Intrigued, I put it on my list of products to try. Let me tell you, I love it!
After cleansing/toning/ sunscreen with my Rodan and Fields skincare regimen, I apply this to my entire face. The only way I can describe it is for me, it works kinda like a photo “filter”. It is like a primer – but better.
Here is an unfiltered photo, wearing only Miracle Blur.
I use it daily, alone or under a CC cream or foundation.
Almay One Coat Thickening Mascara
$7.29 HERE
I have tried many a mascara in my day. I ditch most of them for being too clumpy, for streaking, stubborn to remove or itching. I can’t stand itchy eyes. I can wear this all day, no smudging, easy to remove and no eye irritation. And you can’t beat the price!
Nivea Skin Firming Gel-Cream $12.99 HERE and Skin Firming Hydration, on sale $5.99 HERE
I was with my girlfriend who specializes in skincare, and was complaining that my skin was parched. Viola! She pulled this out of her bag, and I started rubbing it on. It feels fantastic, no bad smell, absorbs and reminds me of Clarins firming lotion at a fraction of the price tag. She had me layer both on, I am not sure why, but my skin felt great!
St Ives Apricot Scrub
Before I started using Rodan and Fields skincare, this was my go to for skin exfoliator. It was recommended to me by a facialist, at the spa I was having a facial at, as a inexpensive skin scrub option. At $4.49 HERE or $3.79 for the generic brand, it’s a real buy.
VICHY Purete Thermale 3 in 1 Cleanser
This multitasked cleanser claims to clean, tone and remover eye makeup all in one, and it does. I use this before my exfoliating wash to get my skin clean. For me, it doesn’t dry out my already dry skin, which is a real win for me.
$19.50, but can often be found on promo at CVS and Walgreens, for less.
Color Tatoo Metal by EyeStudio | Maybelline
$6.99 | buy 1 get 1 half off promo on now HERE
On the hunt for a natural “no feel” eyeshadow for summer, I came across this in a magazine, which suggested trying it in “Bold Gold” for a fresh bronzed natural look. When I went to purchase it, I thought perhaps the “BoldGold” color was a bit intense (lower left corner) for me , so I purchased “Barely Branded”. This stuff is great and cheap. Stays on all day, no creasing – I simply apply it with my fingertips. I would compare the look/staypower/feel to the Clinique Chubby Stick shadows – at a lower price.
How ’bout you? Any favorite drugstore buys? Do share, I know we’d all love to hear!

Some great finds and I totally want that Miracle Blur. You looked great and unfiltered! (Insert wolf whistle). I want to try the eye shadows as I love my chubby stick but at that price, I need to try the eyeshadows too! http://www.yummomummo.blogspot.com
Hey there Melissa! Ok, so Miracle Blur I love! You might not be ready for the 40+ miracles-your skin is pretty darn fabulous, but give it a try and see what you think. You are the one who put me on to Chubby Sticks and it was the first thing I thought of when I tried out this Maybelline shadow. Let me know what you think. I use it with my Chubby Stick as my Chubby Stick is in a darker shade. They work well together for me! xx
Love to hear about other’s drug store favorites, here are some of my drugstore favorites:
Jordana lip liners ( great colors; and great price point).
Cera V hydrating cleanser cleanser in moisture deep (best cleanser of my skin type, old / combo)
Nivea in Shower (excellent moisturizer)
Sweet Almond Oil (dark circles)
Topix Pharm Glycolix Elite Facial Cream (excellent glycolic acid cream)
Embryolisse Concentrated Lait Cream (excellent moisturizer)
hugs
