One of my fave finds, from last weeks Sip + Swap clothing exchange, was this green DVF wrap dress. Seen in the video clip, from last weeks event, HERE.
There is so much about this dress to love. The gorgeous color, wrap styling (my fave), it’s DVF (love her!), it was previously loved by my dear friend Susan (love her too!), and it was my size. Well almost my size. Truth be told it was a size bigger than I normally buy, and shorter. Being a more midi/knee length kind of gal, I would have been more comfortable had it been a bit longer – especially this time of year.
I have always been one to make my own trends. I follow current trends as a guide, but adjust them – to make it work for me. My mom could tell you, I’ve done this since I was a kid!
Wanting to wear the dress, but not wanting to show so much leg, I styled this dress with crop pants found over at ASOS, and viola, a whole new look!
By adding a pant, I could wear my block heel sandals and not feel like I was baring the amount of skin; saved for tropical vacations – when I have a tan.
This fun clutch?
Also a swap find, one that previously belonged to a girlfriend, with a past in the handbag design biz – this fab suede clutch was one of her original samples – it was love at first sight!

This is not the first time I have worn a pant with a dress. I have done this for work, when a more conservative look, is what I am after.
With this trench dress:
Purchased at Ann Taylor last year. I felt it was a bit short, for work.
I added a wide leg silk pant from Theory.

And with a beach caftan – over white skinny jeans,
#resortready!

Another find I picked up at the swap, was a pair of wide leg white pants. I have plans to pair them up with a black trench dress, stay tuned, I’ll be sure to share how it goes!

Great dress! DVF wrap dresses are great, and i love the color of the one you got! it looks fabulous with the pants! And, yes, I wear dresses with pants! I love that it really changes up a look and makes shorter dresses appropriate for all kinds of occasions.
The bag you got at the swap is fabulous, too! You have friends with great clothes! 🙂
Happy Weekend, suzanne!
Thank you Andrea – the color is what grabbed my attention – then I saw DVF, too good to be true. Yes, my girlfriend who was a handbag designer in the early 2000’s, has quite the collection. I was thrilled she was willing to part with a few of her original samples. My daughter picked up a really fun backpack as well. I was able to grab up a few of trousers from the same friend, can’t wait to style them up 🙂
