Easy Maxi Dressing

The easiest outfit to put together in a pinch involves a maxi dress.

It’s a onesie for grown-ups; day or night.

Here’s the formula:

1) Dress

2) Wedge or flat sandal

(even flip-flops work as you really can’t see your shoes – but note that wedges will give you legs that appear to go on forever!)

DONE!

Optional add-ons:

3) Earrings, necklace and some arm candy

4) A topper

The last item is the one that always gets me as it’s a necessity in the event of a chill yet I always struggle with what looks best.

A cardigan? An anorak? A denim or white shirt tied at the waist? Leather jacket?

All of the above are good, but with options come decisions and who wants to make decisions as they are heading out the door with a damp ponytail?

The key to this easy outfit is a denim jacket.

I like a denim jacket as it adds some shape and polish to the entire outfit.

Sure you can mix it up but the most straight-forward out the door in a hurry formula is:

Maxi dress+sandal+hoop earring+denim jacket=done!

For a flattering look,  I suggest a denim jacket with a great fit that is not too boxy and hits above the hip

remember, we’re going for sassy not cowboy!

Note that in my opinion the jacket runs a bit small and tight in the arms.

As the weather heats up, don’t fret as summertime is the easiest time to look fab!
