Welcome to ‘Everything Wore Last Week,’ where I’m sharing five outfits I put together over the past week. I definitely don’t have it all figured out, but I thought it’d be fun to show how I’ve been styling some of my favorite pieces. The goal here isn’t perfection—just a bit of inspiration to make the most of what’s already in your closet.
I’ll break down each look, explain why certain pieces work together, and share tips to help you swap things out to fit your own style. You’ll see everything from casual, laid-back outfits to more polished looks, so there’s a little something for everyone. Most pieces are closet staples, but if something is current or has a similar option, I’ll link it for you. Hopefully, this gives you some inspo for your own wardrobe and helps mix up your outfits for the week ahead!
This week’s roundup is a blend of the past two weeks, as I was traveling part of one week and then caught a bug that left me a bit under the weather, binge-watching Netflix on the couch in sweatpants for most of the week.
Day 1
tee, here | tote bag, here | sneakers, here
This versatile, year-round pleated nylon skirt from Tibi is my go-to for days when I want an alternative to pants. The cost-per-wear has been incredible—my only regret is not also getting it in navy or black when it was available. I often style it with a tank or graphic tee, balancing my shorter torso with hip-length or longer jackets and sweaters. It pairs perfectly with sneakers for a day of errands and a stop at Philz for coffee.
Day 2
Match 65 NYC, highly recommend!
Rick and I made a quick trip to NYC to explore the city, take in the fall leaves, catch a show (Elton John’s new musical, Tammy Faye), and enjoy some great food. Since we both now travel with just carry-on luggage, I’m particular about what I pack (check out this video for my packing tips and how I fit a week’s essentials into a carry-on). This approach also means wearing my bulkiest pieces on the plane both ways. For this trip, my key piece was a wool plaid jacket from Veronica Beard. What I love about Veronica Beard’s dickey jackets is how easily you can change the look with different dickeys, which take up almost no space in my carry-on. I brought three dickeys for this trip—a black cashmere hoodie, a brown cashmere hoodie, and a denim insert. I didn’t get a photo of the brown dickey outfit, but I wore it twice with my grey jeans and a brown sweater. And apologies for that last photo, taken in Balthazar’s bathroom—I didn’t realize the mirror was so cracked until later!

What is Mr. Bell wearing you ask? AG jeans, on sale here | jacket and t-shirt both Goodman Brand, jacket (here) | t-shirt (here)
Here is a little better look at how the denim dickey layers under the jacket.

Day 3
cardigan, similar (on sale),similar | necklace, here | tote bag, here | mules, here
Let’s talk about these jeans. I bought these ultra-wide flare jeans from Anthropologie in 2021. They were a summer staple that year, but eventually, I fell out of love with them. Still, I kept them since ultra-wide flares in this wash are hard to find. They sat in my closet’s “purgatory bin” for a few seasons, and during my last clean-out, I almost consigned them. Instead, I held onto them—and last month, after buying a pair of Jenni Kayne mules, I decided to give them another shot. With the right shoes, these jeans suddenly felt perfect again! Sometimes, all it takes is a fresh accessory—a different shoe or belt—to bring an old favorite back to life.
Day 4
calf hair mule in brown, here | suede bag, similar | necklace, here
Same jeans and mules on repeat, this time paired with a shirt jacket from CABI. If you’ve followed my style, you know I’m not usually drawn to plaid or shirt jackets—they’re a bit outside my comfort zone. But this one works because it’s slightly fitted at the waist, has pockets, and is lightweight enough to roll up the sleeves and show some skin. Plus, the color combo has a subtle ’70s vibe I like. My 3 style words—Classic, ’70s Luxe, and Elegant, with a relaxed twist—don’t lean masculine or sharp, so to add elegance to this casual look, I layered on some gold jewelry. Makes sense?

Day 5
cardigan, similar | bootie, same boot, updated color (here), similar boot, same color, here | jean, here
I wore both of these outfits on different occasions, and while I prefer the look on the left with the darker jeans, I wanted to share both to show how experimenting in your closet can reveal endless styling possibilities—especially when you’re working with pieces you love. Every item in the left outfit is a favorite: my L’Agence jeans, suede booties, cashmere cardigan, and my grandma’s vintage Gucci bag. Paired with my favorite gold jewelry, this look blends classic, comfort, elegance, and a touch of vintage, making it a repeat for the season. The outfit on the right is similar, but the lighter jeans and wide belt take away some of the elegance I was aiming for. Which look do you prefer?
I hope you found this post helpful and that it inspires you to shop your own closet and create looks you love. For more outfit ideas from past posts, visit the “What I Wore” tab on my homepage or click here for more ideas.

Binge watching Netflix in sweatpants is always a good idea! You look amazing as usual! Love those wide leg jeans and how you styled them.
Haha! Yes, it has been one of those weeks, just now feeling a bit better and hopefully can get out of my sweatpants and back into styling my closet 🙂 Thank you for your compliment on the wide leg jeans. It made me pause to wonder, maybe when we clean out our closets, we should pause a bit, and if something is good quality and fits well, maybe holding onto it for a bit longer and really digging in as to why we aren’t wearing the piece is worth our time. Like with this jean, I bought it in the spring and always wore it with a nude or gold sandal – and I loved that look. they are hemmed to be worn with flats, so I never loved them with a boot. But something about the elongated pointed toe of this mule worked for my eye, and now I am wearing them – with the mule – with all types of pieces in my closet. Made me take pause. Moral of the story; if you loved it enough to buy it at some point, and it fits (key) and quality and condition are good (also key), try restyling it before giving up on the piece. Thanks for stopping by, I hope all is well with you and your family! xx
