With November here and holidays approaching let’s pause a moment to look back on October.
October was full of travel, fun and new discoveries.
After spending a long weekend in NYC I returned inspired! I love visiting the neighborhoods of Soho, Nolita, Meatpacking and the West Village.
If you missed the post, click HERE and walk the neighborhoods of NYC with me!
There are some fun trends happening and they are on full display in New York (little easier to jump into fall fashion when there is a chill in the air!)
One of my favorite looks was the poncho, blanket wrap, chunky knit party that was happening everywhere!
There is a new sweater silhouette for anyone who is interested in trying something new. I saw a wide variety of textured solids and bold patterns.
Layering was big!
Last month we talked ponchos. For links to the photos below and more on ponchos click HERE
and
With so many options now available I narrowed the list down to a few of my favorites.

Right: Clean and simple. I think this makes an elegant statement HERE
With all these great knits emerging, we need bottoms!
I love a straight leg jean when I wear booties or flats. They give a slim line which off sets free form knit pieces on top.
I like skinny jeans with tall or moto boot styles.

I am biased toward the straight leg jean from Paige. I think it is pretty great!

This jean keeps it’s shape, stays up with no gap and looks great rolled up or down. Available in a variety of washes. My favorite!
Leggings
We all know now that LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS!
If you want a pant you need a PONTE stretch pant as they are much thicker. Remember leggings show EVERYTHING so unless you are 10 years old do not wear them as styled in the photo below. I know that sounds bossy, you will thank me later.
That said, leggings are wonderful when worn correctly!
My favorite is the Hue wide waistband legging.
Available in 3 colors.
The wide waistband is the key. It stays up and it doesn’t sag anywhere on the body.
Perfection.
We discussed some of my favorite beauty products this month.
One thing I can’t live without, The Beauty Blender HERE | Sephora

I tried out 4 new beauty products this month, gotta share!
Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle | $21.95 | Birchbox HERE
Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips | $14.50 | Birchbox HERE
I have been using this every night on my dry lips, it is great! Works on cuticles as well. Good stuff.
Coastal Scents Revealed Eyeshadow Palette Set, 20 colors |$34 | Birchbox HERE
My Birchbox came with these 4 nudes, which I love. I don’t really need 20 colors but I do like the palate I received.
Mirenesse Glossy Kiss, in 5 colors | $26.55 | Birchbox HERE
I purchased this in the Birchbox Soho store in ‘cheeky kiss’.
It is the perfect nude lip color when wearing a smoky eye in the evening.
I use it in the daytime as well. I love the velvety texture.
Next up, nail polish
I am loving these three at the moment:

Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Bark $18.00 HERE

Right: Rimmel Steel Gray via pinterest HERE

I still think the Dolce Vita ‘Posie” bootie is a big bang for your buck! Now at a fabulous price @ $49.96 | Nordstrom HERE
We had a hot month out here, but I pulled mine out of the closet every time the temps went below 70 degrees.
Similar version from Mossimo at Target | $29.99 – $34.99 | HERE

I added a few items to my closet this month which have been getting a nice rotation in the closet. I wasn’t sure about the black coated denim pencil skirt. but have worn it 3 times in the last 2 weeks that’s a winner! A denim skirt is a nice alternative to jeans.

Now on to a few of my favorite looks from last month.
Yes, these photos are taken in my kids bathroom but since this is not a photography blog just roll with it!
