1. Wardrobe Must-Have | A White Shirt
Worn alone, open, or tied at the waist, a crisp cotton or white linen shirt is a wardrobe workhorse for the summer months. New, for this spring/summer season, is the eyelet/cutwork version of the great white shirt. Available at every price point, THIS beauty from Hugo Boss is the idea. Both Talbots and Zara had versions of this shirt for less, but are currently sold out online. For a fun twist on the trend; check out THIS from Anthropologie or THIS from Zara. For a twist on the classic linen, I love the blouson sleeve on the Anna Blouse from Boden.

2. Eyelet Duster
Continuing on the eyelet trend, I couldn’t resist picking up THIS long eyelet duster from Free People. Also available in brown, I can see this worn as a light jacket, belted, as a dress (with a slip under), or swimsuit cover up. I recently wore it to dinner with friends, paired with white linen wide-leg pants, and a black tank – tons of compliments!

3. Basic Tee with a Twist
This v-neck tee offers just the right amount of upper arm coverage and length making it a great spring/summer tee.
4. The $5 Tank
Budget friendly, bra friendly, this tank from Target comes in 14 colors, size XS-XXL. Yes, it’s $5, ran TTS for me.

5. Tiered Maxi Skirt
I’m always on the hunt for an easy to wear, elastic waist maxi skirt to pair with a simple white tank, and a white button-down. Add a rattan tote, sandals, gold or silver jewelry and off you go! I loved the starry print on THIS long tiered skirt from J Crew – now on sale!

6. More Birkenstock to Love
Finding the right Birkenstock for your foot is something very personal. My college-aged daughter is now on her 3rd pair of white ‘Arizona’ (straight forward comfort sole, no big buckle), where as I alternate between my bronze ‘Gizeh’, white Big Buckle ‘Gizeh’ and tan ‘Madrid’ sandal. And since I love to mix things up, I’m a little obsessed with the braided twist on the latest ‘Gizeh’ sandal in this gorgeous dusty blue color.

7. Elevated Sandal at a Great Price
Once in awhile I need an elevated shoe that doesn’t sacrifice comfort for style. While visiting Carmel last week, I spotted (THIS) sandal on 4 different women, one of them, a sales person in a shoe store who told me she wore hers all day, standing, at the store. Worth a look, available in 16 colors, including 4 different “nude skin tone” shades, I picked a black pair of the ‘Pally Sandal’ for myself last week.

And if the 3 1/4″ block heel is a bit to high for your lifestyle or comfort level, the ‘Ronin’ slide has a similar look with a 2 1/4 inch heel

8. Bring on the Boho
If you like the look of a wooden platform sandal, but the height is just too much, check out the ‘Andi’, from Kork Ease.

9. It’s Wedding Season!
Wedding Season is upon us, and for many of us, that’s means mother of the bride or groom attire. Luckily, the blogosphere is here to help! This week produced not one, but two very helpful guides, from two of my favorite bloggers. I encourage you to hop over and visit How to Dress when you are the Mother of the Bride (or Groom) @ 40Plus Style, where you may even see yours truly (wink!)… Along with Signature Style | Wedding Guest Dressing by Kim @ NorthernCaliforniaStyle; who has you covered all the way from your dress to your accessories (note that she and I both love the DV Pali Sandal!)
