Hello and welcome back an all-new Friday Favorites! This week’s round-up includes a little of this-and-that, ranging from Style and Fashion (charmed by the 70’s), Home Design (how to build a beautiful bed), Travel (meet Tuscan Texan, now Florentine travel blogger Georgette Jupe), to Shopping (this weekend’s sale picks). And in the event you’re looking to bake up something fabulous with that abundance of plums in your kitchen, I just came across a recipe for Ricotta Plum Cake from JulsKitchen’s that I plan to whip up this weekend.
1. Currently Obsessed: Stine Goya
You may have noticed that many style blogs are overrun with sponsored posts and product these days, and I want to insure you that 99% of my posts are NOT sponsored, including today’s dress. I will only agree to a sponsored post if I LOVE the product and feel it’s something y’all might have interest in knowing about. Off the soap box, truth be told, today’s dress was risk. It’s one of those pieces in my wardrobe that when I’m wearing it, my family either shoots me a look like I’ve lost my mind (why would I CHOOSE to dress like Mrs. Roper?), or they love it. They loved this dress – as did I. A statement on its own, I’ve worn this dress with simple black sandals and gold jewelry, for a more understated (if you can call it that) look. Today’s outfit is what I wore earlier this week, to speak to a large group of wonderful women about all things style and fashion. Being that one of the topics I was to speak on was FW19 trends, I felt I needed to incorporate a few of my favorite fall trends; snakeskin, bold print, and olive green into my look. Notice my O-bag? She’s got a snakeskin vibe going on! To see how she looks in purple, visit 12 Trends to Watch | on ASB HERE.

2. How To Build a Magazine Worthy Bed
Whenever my husband Rick and I are preparing a home for the market, we spend quite a bit of time and focus on making sure the bedrooms in a home reflect a beautiful and cozy space. This week I wrote and published an article I’ve been wanting to put together for some time, How to Make a Beautiful Bed | HERE. Within this post, I offer my step-by-step designer tips beginning with linen selection, pillows, and shams to photos of six luxurious beds from homes that we have recently staged and sold. I am a firm believer that beautiful bedrooms shouldn’t be reserved for marketing brochures. After all, we spend a third of our lives sleeping, shouldn’t our bedroom should be a luxurious place to rest and enjoy? You’ll find the full article on my Real Estate website, RickandSuzanneBell.com | HERE
3. Farmer’s Market Recipe | Ricotta Plum Cake
As I combed Pinterest for recipes to make with abundance the plums we collected at this week’s Farmer’s Market, I came across THIS Ricotta Crumb Cake recipe from JulsKitchen. This recipe begins with an easy to prepare crust, and is topped off with layers of ricotta, dark chocolate and plums…yum! Giulia Scarpaleggia is a food writer and photographer. She teaches Tuscan cooking classes in the countryside and has written five cookbooks. Check out her blog (it’s a winner!), JulsKitchen | HERE.
4. Florentine Life | Travel Blog
While researching places to shop in Florence this past summer, I came across Girl in Florence, a fun and informative blog by Texan, now Florentine, Georgette Jupe. For those of you planning a trip to Italy, her blog is a must-check-out, and for the rest of us who are obsessed with all things La Dolce Vita, you’ll find her musings on Italian life and travels | HERE.
