Since 1990, mid-July is a time when I look forward to planning a day and time on my schedule to preview the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale at Nordstrom Palo Alto. For 16 of those 30 years, I had the pleasure of being a true “insider” to this one-of-a-kind sale (one that no other retailer has been able to successfully pull off IMO), as a Buyer and then Store Manager of various Nordstrom Stores. Since launching AskSuzanneBell.com 6 years ago, numbers would indicate, your favorite posts ARE my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Dressing Room Reviews and Favorite Sale Picks.
Changing Times
So here we are today. A very different time, one that none of us could have ever imagined. In going back and forth in my mind on whether or not to cover the sale this year, I decided why not? If anything, to keep the tradition alive – something to remind me of how things used to be and will be again someday … AND to support one of the best retailers in the world, as they maneuver these unprecedented times.
Mark Your Calendars!
Since I can’t have you join me in the Nordstrom dressing room, I invite you to join me this coming MONDAY, August 3rd, right here on AskSuzanneBell.com, when I’ll be sharing my favorites. I’ve previewed the online catalog by category and linked my favorites for you to browse and shop in a special post, along with a fun video with tips on how to maneuver the sale safely and virtually.
Requests
After hours of browsing the Nordstrom Anniversary Catalog (PRESS HERE), my curated list is ready to share this coming Monday. That said, if there is a category or item type you’d like me to add, please drop me a line in the comments below and I will do my best to locate and review pieces that are on your mind right now.
Insider Tips
What’s all the hype? Here’s the skinny. For 25 days, savvy shoppers have the ability to buy new items before the fall season begins – at limited-time low prices. Nordstrom is the only retailer I am aware of, that has truly mastered this type of sale – and it’s pretty fabulous!
Make A List: We are living in changing times, what would enhance your wardrobe or lifestyle right now? A cozy loungewear set? An Aromatherapy Diffuser (HERE)? A new pair of Zella Leggings (PRESS HERE)? Maybe it’s a pair of Ugg Slippers (LOVE THESE), or a new pair of cozy pjs (PRESS HERE)? A cozy cardigan in new colors (LIKE THIS) paired with printed joggers (PRESS HERE) feels perfect for enjoying an early morning coffee on the patio. There’s so much to browse, so I suggest you think about what your needs are TODAY, and stick to the list.
Don’t Get Sucked In: I’ll leave you with my words of wisdom. Don’t get sucked in by every blogger and Instapost telling you HAVE-TO- HAVE ‘THIS’ HOT ITEM. Stick to your list, enjoy browsing every insta-blogger going crazy about the deals over the next few weeks…you’ll have many an opportunity to shop fall fashion when the season actually comes and we have somewhere to go, I promise!
