The minute I get a pretty new pedicure, the rain rolls back in, and I’m back to pulling on my boots. Fickle. That is what my closet thinks of spring. Hot one day, cold the next…I’m so over winter, that I packed up most of my cold-weather wardrobe without giving it a second thought. How do we reflect our spring style, without freezing our tushes off in the process?

My answer?
Layer up sister, and add some color!
On this particular overcast rainy day, I could have pulled out my trusty jeans, grey sweater and boots. Refusing to give in to the weather, I decided to grab a floral blouse and layer it under a lightweight sweater dress – most likely designed to be worn as a tank dress in the summertime. It was chilly, so I grabbed my boots, but ditched the tights to lighten up the look. A cashmere wrap was a necessity this chilly morning. I headed out to meet two dear friends, to catch up over at my favorite coffee spot. The sun peeked out, and we were able to enjoy this early spring morning on the deck outside. I have to say, I felt a little spring in my step all day long, happy to be out of my usual dark heavy winter attire. Despite the clouds, I felt the joy of springtime.

i’ M IN INDIANA, SO OUR SPRING WEATHER IS OFTEN GLOOMY & RAINY. i START BY REORGANIZING MY CLOSET AND PUTTING AWAY ALL THE HEAVY SWEATERS AND TURTLENECKS AND ANY SHOE WITH SUEDE. i ADD FLORALS, LIGHTER WEIGHT FABRICS, DUSTY ROSE AND TURQUOISE. i BOUGHT A TRANSITIONAL CLOG THAT COVERS THE TOES, BUT THE HEEL IS OUT, SO IT’S A COMPROMISE. i ALSO ADD A SMALLER BRIGHT BAG TO HAVE A POP OF COLOR.
Hi Shauna! Sounds like you good to go with an awesome plan! Thank you for sharing with the community – you’ve got it dialed in! Happy Spring! xx
I like the look of a blouse or t-shirt under a tank. Style top or dress…it is so practical and looks european.creative way to transiton on these days where the weather can look like spring but feel like winter ! A denium sleeveless dress is perfect for non-jeans yet casual as jeans. I am all in on this look….
THank you! I like the idea of a denim dress – easy to wear now and later. Thank you for sharing your ideas here with the community! xx
Love these ideas – although we’re already into sleeveless dresses here in Fla! You look fabulous, BTW. xox

Getting creative with layers is a must, I live in Ireland where it is cold pretty much all the time so I don’t have much choice but to do this! haha. I would love to keep in touch, it is always lovely to make new blogger friends! x

I bet…it’s chilly out in your parts! Even though we are in California, the San Fransisco Bay Area has it’s own climate..but I’m thinking our layers might be a bit lighter than yours 🙂 I always have a cardigan and puffer vest in my car – you never know quite what the day will hand you! Thanks for stopping by! xx
