Before we get rolling on today’s Style Post, did you catch my Friday Favorites Live on Facebook today? That’s right, AskSuzanneBell is live! I think beauty products are best seen and shown, so I thought it would be fun to create a short video featuring my top 5 beauty products from this week. I’d love it if you could take a quick peek at the clip on my Facebook Page, and drop me a comment if you would like to see more of these types of videos. The post is pinned to the top of my Facebook Page so it’s easy to find. You can link in direct by clicking (HERE). On Tuesday, I shared my savvy tips for successful thrifting. If you missed the post, you can catch up (HERE).
Moving on to todays post … today, we’re talking why and how to pick pieces you love, plus I’ll show you how I styled one of my favorite tops – 5 different ways, during all 4 seasons.
FACT 1: You don’t need to own a ton of clothing to have a fabulous wardrobe.
FACT 2: You DO need to own pieces you absolutely love to achieve a fabulous wardrobe.
FACT 3: Most of us probably have too much in our closets, making getting dressed each day a frustrating ordeal, which ends in leaving the house in yoga pants; perplexed that we have nothing to wear.
Quality Over Quantity.
Think of your favorite piece, why do you love it? Is it the fit? The color? Do you get compliments everytime you wear it? Maybe it’s soft? Easy to care for? Take note, the reasons you love your favorites should be your guide for allowing new items to enter, as well exit your closet. We all make shopping mistakes, god knows I’ve made many – understanding what clothing makes you feel your best is the key to achieving fabulous personal style – everyday.
Today’s Look
Today’s look is made up of a few of my favorite pieces. The color of this Bailey44 silk bare shoulder top is one of the most flattering colors for my skin tone. This was a pricey piece that I bought on sale last year, and have worn it more times since than I can count. In putting this post together, I realized that this is an all season top for me. That’s right, I’ve worn it every season, in different ways! 100% silk and double lined, it’s comfortable and chic all in one. My pants are by Clover Canyon, a company known for their wildly fun prints. Made of silk and lined, they sit perfectly on my hip, like they were custom made for me.
Outfit Details: Pants: Clover Canyon | Top: Bailey44 | Bracelet Stack: BudhaGirl (LOVE!) | Necklace and Earrings: Gorjana | Sandals: Tory Burch

I can’t think of one cute top I have that i can wear year round…not one! A white shirt is really not a cute top is it? So I loved the way you took this cute top and got so much use out of it. the color is so neutral and I am determined to shop for something like this in a color other than black. Thanks !
I think a white shirt counts, for sure! Whatever piece you love! For me what got me thinking, is I have lots of tops, but some I never wear. And why is it then, that I wear this one so much? Gets me thinking I need a little check list of what makes a top a winner, before I drop the credit card down for a new piece. Having an idea of what you really wear I think helps when it comes time to let a few pieces you don’t wear go…all sounds good right? Now if I could apply this logic all the time, LOL! xx
I love the way you worked that top, Suzanne. And I certainly agree about quality clothing being worth it.I’m still working on that quantity thing 🙂 XO

Thank you! I really try to live and shop by this PHILOSOPHY but I am quite a collector, so I constantly am having to purge my closet and remind myself of my own mantra to only buy and wear pieces I absolutely love…it’s a lifes journey…#closetGoals.
