Next up, gladiator sandals – they are everywhere this summer. I love a breezy summer dress paired up with gladiator sandals and a fun bucket or straw bag.
AskSuzanneBell Gladiator Tip: The key to pulling off a pair of gladiators is to find a style that works for you. If you are on the shorter side or are blessed with thicker ankles (like me), go with a color close to your own skin tone, like a nude or for me, cognac. Keep the top portion of the sandal low, at or below your ankle, and for more length for your legs – add a bit of a heel. If your legs are long and lean, go for it – you can pull off about any height of gladiator, it will draw attention to your long legs! Also, a gladiator with a strip up the middle, that bisects the foot, will draw attention to the center of your leg – making them appear longer.
Not sure what is best? Keep it simple in a nude or tan with a few straps – you can’t go wrong.
Last month during the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale, I picked up these gladiator sandals by DV Dolce Vita.
I find them to be super comfortable and run true to size. I like how the dark colored sole gives me the option of wearing either a cognac or black bag.
I plan to wear these sandals with everything from shorts and dresses to denim.
This week, I styled them up with my Shibori Maxi Dress from Banana Republic.
