Whether you run, do yoga, paint, walk on the beach, relax at the spa, shop at your favorite mall, bike, lunch with friends, take a mini road trip, take in a matinee or show, turn off the phone and get lost in a great book, cook or bake, browse the endless shelves at the library or get a manicure during your lunch break, I think we can all agree it is important we carve out a little time for ourselves here and there. I believe in order to be our best self to others, we need to nourish our souls.
A delicious breakfast with my girls, at the Mayfield Bakery in Palo Alto, is one way I recharge. My pals and I meet up early morning, chatter about anything and everything over a hearty breakfast (no diets here!) which always include hash browns and bacon, invariably some post-breakfast thrifting at one of our favorite haunts, Fillmore & 5th.
Regardless of being a solo-shopper-on-a-mission kind of gal, I love thrifting with friends. A grown-up treasure hunt, you never know what you or your pals will find along the way. And when you do, it’s fun to have a wing woman or two there to celebrate the win! Not to mention, when sales are final, it’s an advantage to have a second opinion or two, before you pull that final sale trigger.
Today’s look began with 4 essential pieces (read more on my 10 Essential Pieces, HERE); a step-crop jean, booties, Uniqlo cami and long tunic tee. Today’s “sprinkles” are an Anthro statement belt from years ago and a new-to-me sweater jacket, found this week at Fillmore & 5th.
But first, I invite you to thrift with Kanesha of BoldLivingToday.com, Michelle and I – a quick story of how today’s sweater, came to live in my closet.
Yes, Kanesha purchased the disco ball sequin jacket and velvet tank for her upcoming trip to NYC. She plans to pair these fun pieces up with denim for a few fun nights out on the town in the Big Apple. There was no way Michelle was leaving without that fab LBD in her bag – so yes, she’s the proud new owner of a stunning designer black dress! For me, the cardigan was just too colorful to pass up and it was like new. The grey Susana Monaco sweater dress will be so fab paired with a bell sleeve blouse or black long sleeve tee…tights and booties!
How I Wore it Today
I love a cozy tunic length sweater during the cold months, over leggings and denim. Looking for a few new ones myself, I rounded up my favorites from Ann Taylor Loft, Anthropologie and Nordstrom for you to browse through and shop down below. Quite a few are on sale, and for those that are not I say keep an eye on them as Black Friday Week is right around the corner! Keep scrolling for my fab boot find of the week; the A New Day Leopard Print Bootie, now 20% off at Target. My Target was sold out, but for those of you who live locally, a big selection still available at the store in East Palo Alto which is where I took the photo for today’s post.
