It’s a Cinch! Accessorizing with Tie Belts

Earlier this week, I shared a few of my favorite DIY tips and tricks, to get your clothing working for you, HERE.

Aside from my hair ties, another accessory must-have for me is an Obi belt.

Also known as a wrap belt, in the past, these babies were difficult to track down. Now, you can find many great choices over at Nordstrom and Anthropologie – just to name a few.

I have a brown leather one, that I purchased years ago over at Anthropologie, along with  a flimsy faux leather one – that came off a dress, that I have since donated, but opted to keep the belt. I have my eye on a few out there right now, and plan to pick up a black or gold one as soon as they hit the sale rack – if not sooner!

I recently shared this outfit on Instagram, wearing my black tie belt:

Just enough fabric, to cover up the elastic on this skirt,

and make my short waist appear a bit longer.

Here it is again, paired with a polka dot sheath.

You’ve seen me wear this brown leather obi belt, many a time on the blog.

With my Hanna pocket skirt,

covering up the elastic waist perfectly!

I was happy to have this belt on hand, when I needed this caftan to be about 6 inches shorter.
