Refreshed, from a week up at the lake, the last thing on my mind, is shopping for the upcoming Fall Season.
We spent the week of 4th of July in Lake Tahoe, enjoying the gorgeous weather.
And lazy days, enjoying the beauty of nature, on the West Shore.
Most days, were spent in a swim suit and cover up. The most dressed up I ever got, was something like this.
That said, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the best sale of the year, so of course I took a scan through the catalog (while lying on the beach), highlighting a few of my favorite pieces.
I just can’t help myself.
After spending 16 years at Nordstrom Inc, as a buyer and store manager for the mega-retailer, and 16 years working the Anniversary Sale – I can tell you first hand, this is the best sale around!
Trust me.
So I’ll tell you, this sale has so much more to offer than the catalog shows. You really need to check the sale out in person, if you have the time. And, in addition to fabulous pre-fall, never-been-seen-at-other-retailers merchandise – there is a TON of clearance at this time. Deals are to be had!
Note: As always, this post is entirely unsponsored, picks and opinions are solely my own.
The official start date of the Sale is 7/22, however, Nordstrom Cardholders can shop Early Access beginning this Thursday 7/14.
Simply pop on into your local store with your Nordstrom card ready, to try-on and shop as if it was the 1st day of the sale!
Why this sale? What’s all the hype?
Living in California, this is the sale where I stock up on basic items, that I know rarely go on sale. As much as I love the heavy sweaters, coats, and cold-weather pieces – I stick to items such as lingerie, shoes, denim, handbags, jewelry, and kids shoes – unless there is a designer statement piece I can’t live without.
Last year, in addition to picking up my favorite panties; the Retro Panty by Hanky Panky and Bliss panty from Natori – I purchased this cardigan from TopShop (which I have literally worn to death)
PS I heard there is another Fab TopShop Cardigan on the sale, not in the catalog – to check out.
Current Elliott raw hem jeans, a DVF statement cardigan, and this pendant from Kendra Scott,
which I later exchanged for this Gorjana pendant necklace, also on sale.
Now for a look at what peeked my interest, out of this year’s Catalog:
SHOES
Stuart Weitzman
Paul Green (love!)
Loving red right now!
I don’t own a pair of Converse – but these are pretty darn cute!
When does Nike ever go on sale?
DENIM
NYDJ fans unite!
KUT; great fit at a great price!
Rag and Bone, loving the raw hem wide cuff on this pair!
Let-Out hem culottes for under $60.00!
COATS
Oh, if I could wear a coat in my climate, I would be all over this red number!
I have a similar leather jacket – purchased at an Anniversary Sale years ago, that I wear all the time. I like that this one has no collar.
Loving the leather sleeve on this wrap coat.
SWEATERS
It’s Joie. Enough said.
Vince long sweater coat – you’ll wear this all season – over and over again.
LINGERIE
Hanky Panky
Natori
HANDBAGS
So these are all fabulous – what’s a gal to do?
I am a huge fan of Rebecca Minkoff
Tory Burch
So Boho
Thoughts?
The online catalog should be available to view any day over at Nordstrom.com.
Do you shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Do you find it difficult to shop fall in the summer – no matter how great the prices?
Are there certain items you like to stock up on?
Do you have a favorite, from the items above?
Drop me a line down below and let me know what you are thinking!
I plan to pre-shopping the sale this coming Thursday, and will be sure to report back this weekend, on what I saw!

Hi Suzanne,
I love your blog! I’ve been following for a few months now, and look forward to your posts. I’ve been meaning to share with you the website where i get my paul green shoes:
http://www.schuhe-lueke.com
The shoe prices here are less EXPENSIVE than nordstrom, eVen with vat and paying in euros!
The downside is the wait, as they are shipped from germany through dhl.
The upside is that you can get 2 pairs of paul green shoes for the price of one at nordie’s!
Check it out sometime.
Thanks for all your great information, my wardrobe thanks you!

Hi Cathy! Thank you for stopping by and following along! Oh boy, that site sounds dangerous! I LOVE Paul Green shoes, both for their comfort and for styling. I just clicked over to check it out. They have a much bigger selection than here in the states, I love that! Thank you so much for sharing this link with other readers and I – our feet and wardrobes thank you! Our credit cards, maybe not so much, LOL! 🙂
xx

Glad you got to enjoy Tahoe!
I try to make a very specifc list of things i need to fill holes in my wardrobe so that i don’t get carried away. I do think a rebecca minkoff bag will make the list though… ?
The List is so good – ah, but to stick to it, that’s my challenge! Great to do a quick look through like you said to only fill holes. Those Rebecca Minkoff bags sure are gorgeous! And the shoes…..:)
