It is no secret how much I love my Kendra Scott Pendant – hands down my favorite, most worn necklace in my closet. Heck, I just ordered the turquiose/gunmetal combo during this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – I wear it that much! For all my picks from this year’s Anniversary sale on now at Nordstrom, click HERE. So, back to today’s post. A few months back, while on a girls weekend, I loved how my oh-so-chic friend Kate turned her white caftan and simple black bikini into something fabulous; by adding layers of delicate yet modern silver chains and pendants. That’s when I knew there were other fish, besides my Rayne pendant, in the sea.
I have been on the hunt a delicate chain combo, trying out many along the way. I’ve tried the 3-fers, (one necklace, 3 chains) which make layering necklace strands a cinch, as the matching up part is done for you. A note of caution; 3-fers tangle pretty easily into a hot mess, if you are not careful – which I am not.
I am a RocksBox subscriber, a subscription box jewelry on loan program that allows you to try 3 pieces at a time, selected by your “stylist”, to keep and wear for as long as you want. Cost is $19.00/month for unlimited jewelry rental and you can return your box as often as you like – free shipping both ways. You also receive a $10.00 spend credit to use in the event you want to purchase any of the items to keep. More on RocksBox HERE. If you are interested in giving it a go, you can use the promo code SUZANNEBFF65 and your first month is free.
I have to say, I am not always thrilled with every piece I receive, but you can leave feedback with each order and RocksBox continues to tweak your order – each time more to your personal style. That said, there is always been at least one piece I really like wearing. What relationship is perfect right out of the gate, right?
Here is a look at my first box so you can see how it looks when it arrives.
The necklace and cuff were fun, and though not totally my style, I did have fun trying these pieces out. I really liked the earrings, by Gorjana. This was my first try with Gorjana. What I like about this brand is the simplicity of the pieces. And, if you are into gold, I really like the tone (gold lovers you know what I mean). It is a warmer gold with less yellow, which I like.
Hoping to try out some more delicate pieces, I was pretty excited about my most recent box. It’s my 4th box and I feel like we are getting to know each other as time goes on. I had requested pieces I could layer together, and that is exactly what I got:
Kendra Scott Elisa Necklace in Platinum Drusy
Gorjana Pressed Taner Long Necklace
Anuja Tolia Gold Double Drop Earrings
Here is how I styled them up this past week:
So, I was almost sold on the set, but before pulling the trigger, I wanted to first check out what Nordstrom was offering up on the Anniversary Sale.
I popped into my local Nordstrom, earlier this week. First, I tried on the ‘Dylan’ Pendant Necklace by Kendra Scott, which has a bit larger pendant than the ‘Elisa’.
I loved it in rose gold. Anniversary Sale price $38.90 | regular price $60.00. More colors available.
The ‘Elisa’, below, for size comparison. You can see it is a bit smaller.
I tried layering it with the Gorjana ‘Tanner’ long pendant necklace, now on sale. Anniversary Sale price is $40.90 | regular price $75.00.
Neither the gold or rose gold were a perfect match, with the Kendra Scott, I wasn’t loving them together.
Then, I spotted the Gorjana ‘Tanner’ Small Bar Pendant, Anniversary Sale price $39.90 | regular price $60.00
Winner! We’ve got ourselves a new AskSuzanneBell must have!
Since I wasn’t looking to get all three, I decided on the two Gorjana pieces, as I think for me they will be the most versatile. I can wear them together or on their own – even layered with other pieces I already have. I do, however, think the Kendra Scott ‘Dylan’ is a great piece on it’s own, if you like smaller pieces.
If you are looking for a great cuff, the Gorjana ‘Elea’ cuff is now Anniversary priced at $89.90 | regularly $135.00
All three of the Gorjana pieces I’ve mentioned are available in gold, rosegold and silver.
Here is how I styled my new set up, just yesterday,
Yes, I could have styled this same outfit up with my Kendra Scott Rayne Pendant, but weren’t you ready for me to mix things up a bit? It’s a different look – a bit more casual and lighter for daytime/summertime.
If you still like the ideas of 3-fers, there are two sets, by Bauble Bar priced at $51.90 HERE.
Both are currently available on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale goes public this Friday!
If you haven’t shopped, but plan to, I suggest shop early as styles go fast!

Already a Gorjana fan or want to see more?
There will be a trunk show in the Nordstrom Palo Alto store, this coming Friday, July 17th from 10-4pm
You can contact Carol Nguyen, department manager for more details on the show.
And do confirm with the store for times, in the event of any changes.
Yep! That’s Carol – she helped me in my search for the perfect layered necklace and some sparkly Kate Spade studs for Grandma’s 92nd Birthday! (and yes, Grandma LOVED them!)
Have a great week!

OMG! I have never heard of such a thing as this jewelry subscription — brilliant!
Hi Raquel! If you like trend jewelry and prefer to not clutter your jewelry box, it’s a great concept. If you decide to give it a go, be sure to fill out the survey and wishlist – to give the stylist a true picture of your style. Even if you don’t like what you get, you just pop it back in the mail in the prepaid envelope and they send you a new box pretty quickly. I’ve had fun with it! Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, I love the larger one in Rose Gold too! Great spotting. I have been wanting to try Rocksbox so perhaps your code is a great time to try. I only have on subscription at a time running and I just gave up my Birchbox so I could try something new! http://www.yummomummo.blogspot.com
Hi Melissa! The RocksBox program has your name all over it! I am the same as you, I dropped my Birchbox for now to give this a try. Since they are based in SF, the turn around time on new boxes, for us here, is really fast. Let me know if you give it a go and tell me what you think! XO
