Let’s Party! Your Complete Holiday Dress Guide

Lace is big this year.

I had the most fabulous lace dress, a kind of retro style – 5 years back. What a mistake, that I consigned it a few years ago, as I would be bringing it out to wear this season. Note to self: think twice before consigning, or donating an great fitting LBD. They can be worn for years to come!

A gold sandal works with just about anything, and makes your legs appear miles long. The Aquazzura sandals above left, are FABULOUS, but those Steve Madden ones on the right, fit the bill at $80.00 | Nordstrom.

A girlfriend of mine, told me about the Alexis Ribbon halter lace jumper (above center). She had seen it on a girlfriend, at a cocktail party – you can imagine it looks fabulous on! What each of these sassy black numbers have in common; is they really show off the shoulders.

A girlfriend of mine asked for some help; in finding a fun, sassy dress, for a few upcoming events. After trying on quite a few, she couldn’t leave this dress from Eliza J behind (above second from right, and below).

She looked fantastic in the royal color, with her reddish/brown hair color, and light skin tone. The ruching on this dress, combined with the stretch – makes it oh-so-flattering! We pulled it all together with gold strappy sandals (just like in the photo), and some stunning earrings and cuff from Alexis Bittar – she loved the whole look!

I love jumpsuits for their ease of movement, and the statement they make. Always pair a jumpsuit with heels – your legs will go on forever!

On a budget?

Get the fit and style, of the dress first. Clutches can be had at every price – like the one from Cesca at $28.00,( above top left). Swap your handbag out for a clutch. All you need is lipstick, some cash and your phone – don’t let your everyday handbag overwhelm your pretty party look!

Not sure what shoe?

Metallic goes with pretty much anything, and you can wear it year round.

The infamous ‘Nudist’ heel, from Stuart Weitzman, seen on every celeb on the red carpet, can now be had at every price.

BP|Nordstrom Brand, makes a version of this shoe,  the ‘Luminate’, for $60.00 HERE– with a more walkable heel. My girlfriend who bought a pair, said she danced in it all night long in her’s – now, that says something!

Last, I love a little face shimmer during the Holidays.

Next time you are in a Nordstrom store, try this out in the store. I thought it added just the right amount of light and sparkle, and gave a nice finished glow – when I gave it a test drive.

Here’s the details off the Nordstrom.com website:

What it is: Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt & Highlight is the perfect blend of pearl and golden pigments to define your features and impart a candlelit glow.

What it does: These universal shades are created from a refined golden base that flatters all skin tones.
