How’s May been unfolding for you? It always seems to be one of those months where life picks up the pace—graduations, the school year winding down, the weather shifting, and a mix of holidays that stir both celebration and reflection. For me, it’s a full season all on its own. Between Mother’s Day, Memorial Weekend, and coming off Easter, we also celebrate two birthdays—my daughter’s and my husband’s—plus our (30th!) wedding anniversary. It’s a lot, and while I wouldn’t trade the joy, I do sometimes wish it all came with just a little more breathing room. Still, I remind myself to slow down when I can, stay present, and savor the moments.
With all that in mind, I thought I’d share a little update—catch you up on what’s been happening lately, show a few spring outfits from this past week, and give you a glimpse into what’s been keeping me busy (and inspired) these days.
Thanks for being here—let’s dive in.
As of Late…

- Eric Javits Birthday Sale is on now, with up to 60% off site-wide. I’ve tried MANY hats, and always come back to my fedora and bucket hat, both 30% off—press here to visit the Eric Javits site.
- Is anyone else totally obsessed with red trainers? It all started for me with the red Adidas Sambas — and now I’m spotting them everywhere! And since I can’t seem to get my hands on a pair of red Sambas, I’ve moved on to other low-profile pairs like the ‘Ghost’ sneaker from Back 70, or the Adidas Gazelle (here). Perhaps the ‘Erin Retro” at Boden….any thoughts here? Open to suggestions! 🙂

- If you like the look of the Bembian Tote ($320.00), I’ve got a few dupes for you.
- Target Caning Tote ($35.00) | white or black handles and trim.
- J.Crew Factory (on sale, $46.50, here) | tan handles and trim
- Etsy Zannia Rattan Tote (here, $82.50) | tan leather handles and trim
- Tip: I use my Longchamp Le Pliage bag insert (under $20 | AMAZON), to keep all my random stuff, sunglasses, wallet, etc., organized and out of view, inside the basket.

- If you are in the market for an easy-to-wear/style dress for upcoming events, I love the fit and versatility of the Tommie dress (scroll down to see how I styled it). Press here to check out 8 colors at Anthropologie. I’ve also sourced the Tommie in the second-hand markets, like Poshmark and eBay. Press here to view and read all my Anthro try-ons from earlier this month.
- I was in J McLaughlin over the weekend and am now obsessed with this raffia horsebit slide sandal. Reviews state it ran small, but for me, I found it to be TTS, and I liked the padded insole. This gorgeous leather/canvas tote bag caught my eye as well.

- Has anyone ordered from Quince? Inspired by a few blogs I follow, I ordered a few pieces from the linen collection to try, including the structured blazer ($79) and strapless linen top ($34.90). I thought this belt at $49.90 was a great dupe for the RUTI signature woven belt ($169), and this dress ($69), looks identical to the Sommerset dress ($169) at Anthropologie.

- Nothing says summer quite like a basket or rattan tote.
