When you are looking to add to your wardrobe, where do you shop first? As consumers we have many options; from mega discounters to mall shops and boutiques. Me? I always try to shop second hand FIRST – before I hit the mall. Why? Aside from stretching my shopping dollars and helping out our planet by reducing waste and emissions, I find the options to be endless. The ability to pick up a designer piece for the price of a J Crew blouse is a real thrill! An endless number of gorgeous, like-new second hand pieces are available, if we just look in the right place.
A recent thrift find, today’s Issa of London for Banana Republic dress was picked up over at ThredUp for, are you ready? Oh yes, $14.99!!!! Lucky for me, someone out there tired of this dress and sent it on over to ThredUp, who then re-sold it and now it’s with me. And guess what? When I tire of it, I will pass it along again, until it’s run it’s course. How fun is that? Eco-friendly chic…now that’s something to celebrate!
And after you take a look at how I styled this bold, kimono sleeve spring dress on this gorgeous Friday, I’ve linked a few archived posts, chock full of ideas on how we can celebrate earth day beyond 4/22…all year long!
