Memorial Weekend marks the start of summer for me, signaling a time to slow down a bit. With the kids wrapping up school—in my case, home from college—flowers are blooming, days are getting longer, and the weather is warm. As farmers’ markets and music festivals pop up, many of us head off on vacations, whether to the beach, the lake, or another relaxing destination. Memorial Weekend embodies a sense of transition and renewal, signaling a season filled with relaxation, adventure, and the simple pleasures of summer living. It’s a time to savor the beauty of nature, cherish moments with loved ones, and indulge in the joys of a slower, more carefree pace of life, all while reflecting on the sacrifice of those who have given their lives in military service.
