Is anyone else feeling completely drained by the onslaught of Cyber Monday/Black Friday deals? It’s not just me, right? This year feels even more relentless—like the ads are everywhere, constantly in our faces. And let’s be honest, if history has taught us anything, this is just the beginning. So how do we, as mindful consumers, protect our energy and preserve our carefully curated wardrobes from the temptation of impulse buys we might later regret? Here are three simple yet effective tips to stay grounded during the chaos:
  1. Pause and Reflect: Before adding anything to your cart, ask yourself if it aligns with your style, values, and current needs—or if it’s just the thrill of a discount pulling you in. Take a moment to breathe before hitting “buy.”
  2. Set Clear Boundaries: Go in with a plan. Decide in advance what you truly need or budget for, and stick to it. If the flood of ads feels too much, unsubscribe from promotional emails or silence notifications to regain some mental peace.
  3. Shop Your Closet First: Spend some time revisiting what you already own. You might rediscover forgotten gems or pieces that fill the same need, helping you avoid unnecessary purchases.
With a bit of intention and self-awareness, we can navigate the season’s frenzy while staying true to what matters most—our energy, our budgets, and our personal style. On that note, let’s dive into today’s weekly roundup, where I share how I shopped my own closet over the past week.

Everything I Wore Last Week 12.2.2024

On Mondays, I share five outfits I styled last week to inspire your own wardrobe. I’ll break down each look, explain why pieces work together, and offer tips for swaps to suit your style. You’ll see a mix of casual and polished outfits—most made with closet staples, plus links to similar items when available. I hope these ideas bring a fresh twist to your weekly styling!

Day 1

I’ve been searching for rain boots that don’t look like traditional wellies for some time now. While I love that look, I wanted something versatile for our mild climate—one pair I could style in multiple ways. These Hunter boots are perfect, combining a Ugg-inspired mid boot, lug sole, and rain boot, all while being comfortable for all-day wear. The Zella faux leather leggings, which are knit in the back and faux leather in the front, are so comfortable, though I wish they still made them. The sweater tunic is a Cuyana alpaca piece—great staple and length. I love how the faux fur on the puffer vest matches the boots, and the orange zipper toggle and Longchamp tote add a pop of color on a dreary day.

Day 2

When the weather is wet and cold, I struggle to wear anything other than leggings and a cozy sweater. But with places to be, I had to pull it together, grab an umbrella, and head out. The outfit on the far left is what I wore that gloomy day, but something felt off. So, when I got home, I experimented with this pleated skirt look until I found something that felt more like me. Adding a fur scarf for texture and interest brought the outfit together. Before switching into my leggings and sweater, I played with a few pieces from my closet and created outfit #3 for another day.

Day 3

Apologies for the poor photo quality—I was rushing out the door for Thanksgiving dinner. These elastic-waist joggers are so comfortable and warm, making them perfect for a leisurely dinner. The mules slip off easily, so I can curl up on the couch after feasting. 🙂

Day 4

everything I wore last week
SPANX leather pant, similar on sale| coat (sold out), similar | wrap sweater, similar, 30% offsimilar on sale | necklace, here and here
everything I wore last week I’ve had this gorgeous coat sitting in my “carted” app for a while now, so when it landed in Anthro’s 40% off sale section last week, I snagged the last one in my size. For me, this was such a mindful purchase—I had seen it in-store, knew my size, and waited patiently for it to go on sale. There are so many ways to style this piece, plus it’s warm and so cozy—I absolutely love it!
