A celebrity evening on DWTS, followed by two incredible dining experiences, cocktails, dessert, and a new breakfast stop. Then, shopping at the Grove, Falafels at The Farmers Market, and sitting down to watch The Accountant…it’s incredible what one can pack into 48 hours! If you follow me on Instagram, you know Rick and I were fortunate, to have been invited as guests, to watch the live taping of Dancing with the Stars this past Monday night.
We have been DWTS Super Fans since the show premiered in 2005. So, you can imagine our excitement, to be invited to see the show live!
If you recorded the show, you may just catch us, up in the left 2nd tier balcony!
The show was everything you would imagine it to be! With Pit Bull as a guest judge and celebs in the audience – it was all Hollywood glamour and sparkle. You can probably imagine the amount of time and energy that goes into such a production – plus it’s all happening live. From the costumes to the wild sets, the people watching and music, this high energy show had us exhausted by the end. Truly something for any bucket list – if you ever have the opportunity to go, do! Oh and my favorite dancer after seeing the show – still Derek Hough, what a talented performer and entertainer he is! #superfan!
And what to wear? Anything sparkly and cocktail goes! They want the audience to be festive – so you see just about everything. I chose to wear a mesh and leather cocktail dress by Robert Rodriguez, my go-to prada cap toe pumps, a David Yurman lava bead necklace borrowed from a dear friend who saved me last minute and all my Alexis Bittar gunmetal pieces. In my bag? A pair of packable slippers from Walmart – let me tell you, they saved the day!
Wanting to be close to the studio, we stayed at the sleek SLS Beverly Hills Hotel.
In true LA style, from the breakfast lounge to the pool, everything was beautiful.
Yep, this is a window to the city.. I had to check for myself!
Following the show, we dined at The Little Door. A cozy, romantic West Hollywood spot, serving up Mediterranean fare. We we required to leave our phones at the hotel, so I don’t have any photos to share – you’ll just have to trust me, on the charm factor.
We started our Tuesday morning off at The Larder, which offers an incredible selection of fresh dishes, espresso, baked goods and the BEST potatoes ever!
Fabulous, and right around the corner from the hotel, we liked it so much, we ate breakfast, afternoon snack (homemade peanut butter sandwich and green tea). Repeat for breakfast again, before heading off to the airport.
We took a quick trip to the Grove (the Nordstrom shoe floor is a shoe lovers dream), strolled The Farmers Market and grabbed a Falafel, before sitting down to watch The Accountant (an action packed flick starring Ben Affleck) #goseeit!
Tuesday night, we dined at AOC Wine Bar and Restaurant, which I highly recommend. From the cozy dining room and oversized fireplace, to the outdoor patio adorned with vines, this is a special place. Farmer’s small plate dining – each and every dish was as yummy as it looked!
Not to be missed, is the dessert bar over at Jose Andres, The Bazaar.
Chic and lively, perfect for before dinner/after dinner cocktails, dinner or dessert. We throughly enjoyed relaxing on a oversized leather couch, drinking lattes and enjoying the most decadent desserts, post-dinner at AOC.

Hi Cyndy! Super fun filled quick trip. I love how quick and easy it is to get to LA from here. Best thing was using LYFT and not having a car to deal with – so easy. THere was so much more to do! I wanted to walk 3rd Street – looked so fun, full of great boutiques and fun places to eat. COuld spend an entire day there. ALso wanted to hit the Art District, but I think thats an entirely different trip. XO
