Okala Too High? I’ve Got You Covered!

Earlier this month I blogged about my go-to d’orsay pump with you all.  If you missed the post, you can check it out HERE.  I love the Okala pump by Sam Edelman because it goes with pretty much everything.  I have worn it with dresses, skirts, pants and denim.  With a walkable 3 1/4″ heel, it is comfortable to boot!  It is available this season in solid or patterned hair calf.  I found patent leather, leather, suede and metallic options as well.

Sam Edelman Okala HERE | $109.95-$130.00 | Zappos | heel height: 3 1⁄4 in | available in 14 options, whoa! This shoe is also available at Piperlime, Nordstrom and Sam Edelman.

This pump is very comfortable for me.  I realize for  many of us,  a 3 1/4″  heel may be just too high of a heel.  If a shoe is too high for you, you simply won’t wear it. I speak from experience. Believe me, it just will not happen. The key to finding a versatile shoe is first, make sure you can walk in it!
Since I feel strongly about this fun style this season (I have 2 pairs myself), I thought I would share some of the lower heel options available.  You can get the same look and versatility on your own personal comfort level.

Before we get started, take a look at these beautiful designer ankle strap d’orsay pumps for inspiration:

from top left, clockwise: DVF $350 |Charlotte Olympia $895 | BCBG $275

from top left, clockwise: DVF $350 |Charlotte Olympia $895 | BCBG $275

These beauties run a $275 and up price tag and have a higher heel.  My options below run between $79.95-$139.95 and won’t break the bank. They have a heel height ranging from a 2 1/2″ to 3″.  On a side note, if a shoe is described as having a platform it will make the “feel” of the shoe lower.  For example, if a shoe has a 2 1/2″ heel but a 1/4″ platform, it will make the shoe feel like a 2 1/4″ heel height. Clever huh?  You will look taller, but be more comfortable!

Yes, the Steve Madden pump is the same heel height as the Sam Edelman Okala, but I wanted to include it in the list.  I think this shoe is a great option for under $100 and it is fun.  The heel looks like it may be thicker than the Sam Edelman.  In my opinion, a thicker heel would make it more walkable.

As you can see, there is a fit available for every budget, comfort level and design.  You can go classic or trendy, you pick your comfort zone!
