Head to toe – shoes, accessories, dress…right down to your coat or wrap. Nails and hair done…you’re ready. The night of the event, you go to get dressed…but you forgot what goes beneath! Many a gorgeous looks, have never seen a party, because they were unwearable!
Truth be told, some fashion designs are simply not meant to be worn by us everyday people, with our day bra and everyday panties. But, with the right foundation garments, you’ll work the party, with new found confidence!
Spanx
I can’t stress enough, take your dress to the store and try it on with your Spanx. You only need to control the areas that are presenting an issue. Not an issue? Leave it alone. The best advise I can share, from my days in the fashion industry,
when it comes to Spanx, less really is more.
#Trust
Shapers
Smoothers, not shapers. If you need to really suck it all in, you can’t beat a Spanx.
I own both shapers (below, top center and right). I prefer the DKNY shaping brief (top right) over the Yummie (top center), but they both show a panty line. Shaping shorts are available if you want to hide the panty line. However, they can roll up on the thigh, which I find annoying. The thong shaper is a great concept, but it’s not my favorite. That said, I am not a huge fan of thongs in general, so keep that in mind.
Seamless Panties
Hide the panty line, with seamless panties.
For everyday, the Wacoal is my new fave (top left). Available in all panty silhouettes, it’s almost like wearing nothing. For no panty line, thongs are best or try the Commando panty line; available in thong, bikini (bottom left), and girl short styles.
Hosiery
Black tights are my everyday go-to. For evening, I prefer a bare leg or nude hose.
Not ready to bare your legs, and no time for a spray tan?
Try Sally Hansen Airbrush Spray on Hose (drugstore)…yes, it actually works, and you can’t beat the price!
