While the rest of the country is defrosting, here in California, thanks to some warmer temps here and there, we get an early preview of what will be trending for spring.
Along with frayed denim, gingham, stripes, ruffles, bell sleeves, gorgeous shades of green, kimonos, bomber jackets, embroidery details, fringe, ruffles, mule shoes in every variety, and lace-up sandals – I’m loving all the bare shoulder looks.
Now, if you follow along with me regularly, you know I have a love/hate relationship with off-the-shoulder tops. Not that I don’t love them on everyone else – I do. My big issue; most off-the-shoulder top’s don’t stay put on me – they’re up, down and all over the place. This predicament has made me a huge fan of cold shoulder tops, like the one, that show some shoulder – with straps to hold the top in place.

Bare shoulder tops scream spring and summer; paired up with denim, skirts, crop trousers – for any occasion.
There are so many options – more than we can cover in just one post here on AskSuzanneBell. Imagine your favorite tank top; be it wide strap, spaghetti strap, narrow strap – you name it and there is a bare shoulder top option.
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite spaghetti strap bare shoulder tops, the ‘Tusk’ Top from Bailey44. This top is from last spring, but I’ve linked a bunch at the bottom of this post for you.
I love the kimono sleeve on this particular top, yet there are loads of options if this is not your game. This type of sleeve works best with a kimono sweater – as the sleeve is wide and will not lay as well under a denim or utility jacket (I’ve tried!). So, keep the sleeve type in mind, when selecting a top, and think about what type of jacket or topper you’d like to wear with it.
Here’s a look at a few other cold shoulder tops – all paired with a denim skirt (another spring fave of mine!)

Thank you Patti! This is one of my favorite tops! xx Suzanne
What about a broad shoulder gal? Not sure these would be very complimentary?
