Happy Friday and welcome back to shoe week here on AskSuzanneBell.com!
Did you catch my Cinderella Story, a journey in search of the perfect mule? Tuesday I reviewed 10 pairs along with links to 20 new styles to check out in, Let’s Shop Loafer Mules (HERE).
For today’s Fall 2017 Shoe Edit Part 2, I’ve rounded up and reviewed a few kiltie fringe loafers (ahem, Gucci lovers these are for you!) found at Target and Nordstrom. A block heel kiltie fringe loafer is so versatile; just think of it as a pump replacement in your wardrobe. I would wear a kiltie block heel loafer with denim, dresses, skirts, crop pants and trousers for this fall/winter season. The Marmont Pump from Gucci (HERE) is flat-out gorgeous, but the $790.00 price tag gives me pause. I found a few that will give you a similar look; preppy, square toe and of course some hardware, at a fraction of the designer price.
Before we get started on the look for less, I am excited to now be able to bring you my Friday Live From My Closet Vidoes, here on AskSuzanneBell.com. You can still view my videos on Facebook, but they now archived and available to view on my You Tube Channel as well. You can watch and subscribe (be my first subscribers!) to my new You Tube Channel by clicking HERE. My You Tube Channel is a work in progress, I’d kind of call it under construction, but none the less, it is live and open to view HERE.
After sharing Tuesday’s post on mule shoes, I heard from many of you that you slip or walk out of this type of shoe and others. D’Orsay pumps, kitten heel pumps, mules, loafers are notorious for being difficult to walk in which is ironic since for the most part these are low heels shoes – meant to be comfortable. Today’s video was inspired by my own experience yesterday, as I dashed out the door in a rush and slipped out of my pumps. Click below to view today’s Live, my story, and an easy affordable solution to the problem.
Have any of you tried a halter 1/2 sole? Do you have a shoe solution you can share with us here? There are many affordable solutions out there and I don’t know them all. Drop a line down below in the comments, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
The pads I mentioned in this post can be purchased locally at the European Cobblery in Los Altos. I sourced them on Amazon for everyone else. Note with both of these 1/2 soles you need a little bit of room in your shoe to accommodate an insert. If you are walking out of your shoes, you most likely have some room. Another solution is Foot Petals, but I like both of the 2 mentioned options better. That said, I have only tried Foot Petals Tip Toes so perhaps their other products work similar to my picks. Thoughts here? Leave a comment!
My top pick: Due North Sure Comfort Half Sole | Amazon | $7.98 + shipping HERE
Tacco Halter Cushion Pad | Amazon | $5.07 + shipping HERE
Kiltie Fringe Loafers
Where it all began, the Gucci Marmont kiltie loafer:
Summit Julia Loafer | Nordstrom |available in 3 colors | $198.00 (HERE)
Gentle Souls Ethan Pump | Nordstrom | available in 3 colors | $179.95 (HERE)
This shoe is sooo comfortable. No hardware here, but I think it is flattering on the foot.
Gilda Loafer Heel Pump | Target | available in 2 colors | $32.95 (HERE)
Now in defense of this pair from Target, I have seen this shoe at all prices with curled up fringe. Maybe that is just what it does? As my mom who was shopping with me pointed out, a little glue on this cute pair from Target could be the answer.

Heading off to grab a pumpkin spice latte with a girlfriend..a have you had yours yet?
XOXO
