You’ve cleaned out the closet.
No?
Let’s get you started with The AskSuzanneBell Closet Edit. And, get a closet that works for you, by reading The 5 Pieces Every Woman Needs.
Next up, the make-up drawer!
Time to ditch that eyeshadow you’re saving for next Halloween and those 3 crusty tubes of mascara. Remember, make up has a shelf life, and colors change with the season.
It’s time to refresh!
Over coffee this past week, my dear friend Celeste and I, were dishing on what we’re loving for spring. You all may recall Celeste, as she has been featured for her fabulous shoe and style picks, in past posts on AskSuzanneBell.
Since you couldn’t join us over coffee, I put together a list of what’s on our radar right now – it’s just like you were there!
As always, none of these products are sponsored. Just us two girls, our picks, and thoughts.
Nail Polish
Muted neutrals are popping up everywhere. And, I am loving how they work so well together! Muted taupe, is one of my favorite new colors, as in my favorite sandals, and bag.
Our favorites:
From large bottle left, clockwise: OPI ‘Worth a Pretty Penne’ (Suzanne’s Pick)| OPI ‘Humid-Tea’ | OPI ‘Press * For Silver | Deborah Lippmann ‘Naked’ (Celeste’s Pick)
If you love bright colors,
I loved this display, featuring the latest spring colors from the Morgan Taylor Botanical Collection.
Armani
If you don’t mind spending a bit more, we share a common love of Armani products.
Celeste swipes a little of eye tint #8 on her lips, for an instant pick me up, along with Bronze Mania #1 – using the sculpting powder brush (she says its worth every penny).
I have been a longtime fan of Armani luminous silk foundation.
Available in a wide array of colors. I always have a salesperson try it on me, to get the correct shade.
MAC
The Paint Pot, is another swipe-and-go eye product, that I use daily.
Goes on as a creme, and dries to a shimmer. For my skin tone, I use Indianwood.
Maybelline ‘Color Tatoo Metal’, is similar to the MAC Paint Pot, for a fraction of the price.
I find the MAC Paint Pot lasts longer – but for a drugstore buy, Color Metal Tatoo, is pretty good.
Guerlain
‘Terracotta Light’ Sheer Bronzing Powder (top left)
I have not tried Bronze Mania, but since Celeste loves it – I will be checking it out. For bronzer, I use terra-cotta light from Guerlain. With any bronzer, have a make up professional help you with your color, to avoid looking like you smeared dirt on your face (yes, that can happen – been there!)
Tarte
Anyone else love their hairdresser? Not only do I love mine, for cut and color, but she’s a makeup artist as well! So while passing the time in her chair, awaiting my new ‘do, I always ask her what’s new, in the world of cosmetics.
On my last visit, while sitting in her chair, I grabbed my phone and ordered 4 products – based on her recommendation.
Tarte LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint in ‘hope’ – a perfect nude color for my skin tone. Moisturizing, long lasting, matte color. My new fave!
Matte not your thing? Other LipSurgence products are available, HERE.
Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation, a lightweight foundation powder. Wear alone or over foundation.
Amazonian Clay 12- Hour Blush, in ‘charisma’.
Maracujá Creaseless Concealer, full coverage, waterproof and long wear without creasing. I use it under the eyes.
With Tarte, I find I get the best prices, directly off the Tarte website. If you sign up, they will send you promo offers quite often, and I find this to be cheaper than purchasing this product from Sephora.

NARS
I love NARS The Multiple in ‘Orgasam’, as the weather heats up. It’s a cream to powder formula, to use on cheeks, eyes and body. Nordstrom currently has an exclusive new color, ‘Hot Sand’, that looks gorgeous.
The Beauty Blender
Hands down, the best blender for foundation and more. I’ve tried others and always come back to this one. Use wet or dry to blend product.

I love NARS “orgasm” blush! I also like Mary Kay’s mineral powder foundation and cream “swipe and go” eye shadow. And yes, my make up drawer looks a lot like yours! 🙂 Thanks for the great recommendations – I am going to try some of these things out!
Hi Kartina! Happy to hear that your make up drawer is as scary as mine! Eek! I have not tried Mary Kay in years, but I have heard from other readers that it is a great product, and ladies are really happy with it – Ill have to check it out! Thanks for dropping a comment and hope you are enjoying the weekend!

Great picks!
I’ll have to pick up a new bronzer. My old one is scary…
Have a fabulous weekend!
Hi Andrea! Bronzers are one of those items that you need to try on. I’d recommend popping into Sephora or Nordstrom, give them your price point and have them select one for you. Getting the color right is huge AND have them show you how to apply it, makes a huge difference (it’s like a 3 on each side of your face) I was applying it incorrectly forever! Bronzer is something I invest in, in the winter I use it as a contour on my cheeks and then just apply blush to the apples of my cheeks (hope that makes sense!)
Have a great weekend and let me know if you find a good one you like

I definitely need a spring beauty refresh!!

Hi Dawn Lucy! I love your Fun Fashion Friday link up! We all can use a little refresh here and there, especially in the springtime! Thanks for stopping by!

Suzanne! Love your picks! I love my beauty blender and Mac blush! I want to try Fresh lip treatments and body polish and putting them on my wish list! Btw, every time I organize my makeup drawer, it takes me a few days to get right back to where I started hehe. Eventually, I gave up. But I do from time to time check the inventory and get rid of expired or unused makeup. xoxo Zuma

Thank you Zuma! Mac blush is awesome, and well priced in my opinion! And what would I do without my beauty blender? As you can tell by my drawer, I totally gave up! But my plan this weekend is to pretty much just dump the drawer upside down and put a few things back. The reality is, I have a smaller makeup bag that sits in the drawer – which holds all my essentials. That’s what I use every day….But, isn’t just so hard to toss that $36 Channel lipstick – even when you know its gone bad? 🙂
Thanks for stopping by! XO Suzanne
