I simply adore a long cardigan. Be it a duster, kimono, cozy long knit or vest – they all make me happy! A signature piece, is an item that you absolutely feel your best in. Like with animal print and aviators, any outfit is better, when it’s topped of with a long dramatic piece – it’s icing on the cake. Perhaps it is my body type. I am short waisted, therefore long pieces tend to elongate my body. Sounds strange I know, coming from someone who is 5’7″, but a short waist can find itself on a woman of any height. Or could it be the drama? I love a little splash with every outfit, a piece that can stand on it’s own – which is why I love statement accessories. Or, as some of my friends have pointed out, maybe I’m not comfortable showing every curve (or lack of). Whatever the reason, this is one piece I know how to style. I’ve narrowed it down to 20 looks for today, but if you are looking for more, pop on over to my @AskSuzanneBell Instagram Feed (HERE), where you’ll find many more looks.

The Kimono
A fabulous must-have spring/summer piece, I wear my kimonos over everything from denim, dresses, and jumpsuits to swim suit looks.
Maxi Cardigan
Yes, these are long and perhaps not for everyone – maybe because they get caught in car doors…
Long Cardigan
AKA Butt Covers, I have a collection of these babies for all 4 seasons.

Long cardigans are great completer pieces! It just makes you look more put together I think. All your looks are fabulous!
And, yes, I’m trying to work through my closet and only keep items that I love and make me feel good!
Hi Andrea! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Thank you for the nice compliment. You are right, A topper does make a entire look appear more polished! Kind of like the French women and their love of the Trench Coat – just pull your hair back, grab a big pair of sunnies, some bright lipstick. Then pop a trench over anything – instachic! I too am continuing to work through my closet – I think it never ends! I’m coming to enjoy the journey! XOXO
I Love a long cardigan! I’ve been wearing them for a few years (mainly because I was uncomfortable with my body size – cover up + elongating!) but now as I’m loosing weight they are great for when my body is between sizes and my pants are saggy in the butt, but I’m not purchasing new clothes just yet. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of how nicely they pull an outfit together.
Hi Molly! Thank you for dropping a line! You said it perfectly, cardigans are the perfect finishing touch to an outfit – I find that don’t feel fully dressed without a top layer! And yes, they can do wonders for hiding panty lines, on those days I just don’t want to deal with things, as well! XOXO
