Happy Friday and welcome to an all new Tales From the Tour What I Wore Friday, a collaboration with my husband and business partner Rick Bell of Alain Pinel Realtors. I’ve been mixing things up twice a month here on AskSuzanneBell.com by sharing a peek into life within Silicon Valley, one of the most sought after real estate markets in the country. I invite you to buckle up and join us, as we tour a few new-to-market homes on the Friday Los Altos/Los Altos Hills Broker Tour. After the short video, I invite you to scroll down for some style inspiration, in an all new What I Wore to Work Friday.
So what is Broker’s Tour?
Broker’s Tour is a time when sellers make it easy for real estate agents to preview properties for the buyers prior to the open house weekend without making prior arrangements with sellers. A brokers tour is limited to real estate agents.
Before we get rolling, our first stop of the morning is always one of our local coffee shops; today’s pick is the Red Berry Coffee Bar, located right in the heart of downtown Los Altos.

What I Wore
We are still experiencing Indian Summer, so I had to get creative. On days like today, when I know I will be getting in and out for the car, I prefer knit dressing. No wrinkle and comfortable, this is my go-to. Today’s fluted hem skirt is a favorite from last year. Get the right black skirt and I promise it will take you far! Paired today with a short ruffle sleeve animal print top from Banana Republic purchased last fall. I felt the neckline needed a little pop so I added a silver collar necklace, then moved my belt buckle to the back as to not compete with the necklace in front. Have you ever tried wearing your belt backwards? This belt trick works great on ponchos and sweater cardigans as well. My thrifted Vince low heel d-orsay pumps insure my feet are not in pain after a morning of previewing homes.

SO nice to see the video. Fantastic skirt you’re wearing! Great belt tip!
Thank you Nancy for stopping by, and Happy to hear you enjoyed our video tour! We have fun touring the area and love to share our adventures! THis is my favorite black skirt, it goes with everything. This belt tip works great for short waisted people like me that want to wear a belt – but find it cuts them in half or for those who love a statement necklace, but don’t want to SACRIFICE the SILHOUETTE the belt offers.
Have a great weekend!
xx Suzanne
I love the idea of turning the belt around! I’ll definitely have to try that! Great post!
Thank you Suzanne! I am short waisted so belts tend to cut me in half – not in a good way. With the buckle in the back I get the belted silhouette without looking short waisted! Have a great weekend! xx
Love your tales from the tour showing homes here in Los Altos.
Also, great tip to wear a belt backwrds!
See you around the Club, probably at the Holiday BouTique!
Can’t wait to see what you and your super stylish Mother-in-law will be wearing!
Happy Halloween
Thank you for stopping by and happy to hear you like our tour adventures! We love previewing homes as much as many enjoy seeing them! I Love the backward belt trick, especially since I am short waisted. I get the SILHOUETTE of a belted look without looking like my belt is in the wrong spot! Yes! You will see us at the Holiday Boutique, I love that event! Have a great weekend!
xx
Suzanne

That’s a great outfit! I love the cut of the skirt; the bottom is so pretty! perfect outfit for this very unseasonably hot weather!
Thank you ANdrea! This is one of my favorite skirts If not the favorite because it is so comfortable! A little chic with contemporary, it goes with everything! Looks like we may get to wear boots this week! YAY!
Adore that skirt, and love the revers belt, I’ve tried that before, but with a smaller one. Nice to see your blog – thanks for sharing. Jacqui

THank you Jacqui for stopping by! THis has to be my favorite skirt in my closet – we all need a favorite black skirt I think! I reverse my belts often, begin short waisted, it prevents my belt from chopping me in half! xx
