I discovered the Larroude Vivi Kitten Heel Slide in the summer of 2023, seeking a fresh update for my nude color block heel sandals. Unfortunately, at the time, there were only a few options for me to purchase; the Larroude Vivi, just shy of $300 with mixed reviews, and a few others that were not a “hell yes!”…so I passed.
Now, it’s summer 2024, and these stylish slides have popped back up on my radar as I continue my search for a versatile and chic mid-heel alternative to my favorite gold flat sandals – to wear with my colorful as well as neutral summer dresses, skirts, wide-leg jeans – on occasions I want to feel a bit more “dressed-up”.

While searching for a pair to try, I found that spending more money on this style did not equate with better customer reviews, with some of the best reviews coming from pairs under $50 like the “Corinne” by Open Edit and the “Robinn” by Chinese Laundry.
After reading reviews and looking at the heel height of multiple options, I decided to give the “Liya” slide by 42 Gold, due to positive reviews, the 2 1/2″ heel block, and the nude leather heel. Bonus, the “Liya” slide is on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, on now.

Final Thoughts
Sometimes all it takes is a shoe, bag, or piece of jewelry to complete an outfit and wear more of what we already own. My hope is this elevated take on the nude sandal gives new life to my printed summer dresses and other looks I’d like to wear, but haven’t been able to complete the look because I couldn’t get the footwear to feel right.
