If you are looking for a piece that will take you anywhere this summer, my vote goes to the maxi skirt. From the beach to cocktails, a maxi skirt always looks chic, and it’s cool and comfortable to boot. Untanned or unshaven legs? This girl won’t mind. Some maxis are even convertible, meaning you can wear them as a dress or a skirt – how’s that for simplifying your summer packing? Read more on how to style a convertible maxi skirt, in this archived post HERE. Today’s skirt is an Anthropologie oldie but goodie. Each year I think I will tire of it, yet it remains in rotation for another season. The vibrant colors work with just about anything, and I’ve have worn it with everything from wedges to flip flops, for so many different occasions. Today’s look actually started out with wedges and a bomber jacket, for attendance at my niece’s graduation ceremony. But life happens with temps soaring into the 90’s by 10am, and off went the jacket. We later went for a nature walk at the Hakone Japanese Gardens in Saratoga – luckily I always have a pair of flat sandals in my trunk, and off went the wedges. I didn’t have a chance to photograph Outfit 1, so today I am sharing the stripped down version – suited for a walk in the hot summer afternoon. My tank is a hot weather favorite from UNIQLO. I love the built in bra and thickness of the Supima Cotton Bra Sleeveless Top (HERE) | $19.90.
Note: The UNIQLO Supima Cotton Top is different than the UNIQLO AIRism Bra top. The AIRism top is a breathable fabric that I love for layering but for me is too thin to wear alone. I have a few of the AIRism cami’s that I layer under sheer tops or sweaters year-round (HERE).
Jack Rogers chocolate sandals, an artisan necklace, JORD wood watch, and oversized sunnies complete today’s look. No bag – it was left behind in the car, a mistake as I lost my car keys for a few minutes there in the gardens!

Knot it up!
