How’s the Holiday Outfit Planning going ladies? Do you have an outfit or two set aside for that upcoming event on your calendar? If you are just getting caught up, my Step-by-Step Holiday Outfit Planning Guide (HERE) is a good place to start. For those of you ready to move on to Step 2, it’s time to talk accessories – or what I like to call, the icing on the cake! In our homes, we use accessories to make a house a home – ie: adding a few seasonal throw pillows or a cozy blanket to your sofa, adds a personal touch. The same idea goes for styling; you can achieve an entirely different look by simply swapping out your jewelry or throwing on a scarf. Short on time? A sparkly headband atop a ponytail, bun, OR hairpiece, can take your quick ‘do from blah to fab! I think a beautiful wrap is more glamorous than a cardigan for a night out. A fun bag, belt, hat, or bling add a touch of glam!

Rings:
Whether you choose to stack them up or make a statement with a gorgeous cocktail ring, rings are very personal. Every ring I own has special significance. A big sparkly cocktail ring (SIMILAR Bee Ring | HERE) is the perfect complement to your perfectly manicured nails and Aperol Blood Orange Mint Spritz (HERE).
Alexis Bittar:
When I want to splurge on sparkle, I go for Alexis Bittar. Each of his pieces is a work of art – I’m obsessed with his rose gold and rhodium metals. Check it out his full line when you have time, at Nordstrom | HERE.
Isn’t his line stunning? Note that select pieces of Alexis Bittar are now available to rent via Rent the Runway.
Handbags
Come evening, leave the big bag at home, and opt for a smaller bag to hold a lipstick, some cash, and phone. My go-to bag of choice is a clutch, but I also love a cross-body chain style or micro-mini bag | HERE. Quilted bags look fresh and new right now, like this beauty from Gucci | HERE or Valentino | HERE. Get the look for less | HERE | HERE. Alternatively, go bright with something like THIS quilted velvet shoulder bag from Maje.
Necklaces
Long necklaces – draw the eye to the center, elongate your body – creating a slimming effect. For more drama, add a chain or two.
Short statement necklace – draws the eye up, away from the body.
Earrings
Go big or go small, here are a few sparkly studs and hoops, under $50.00, that I like for the holidays.
Headbands and Hair Pieces
No time for the ‘do? Consider a faux hairpiece! Available in a clip or rubberband wrap style – a hairpiece + a sparkly headband (my favorite | HERE) will fool friends, and look like you spent hours on your hair! Shh don’t tell…
Belts
Belts accentuate, so place them on the most flattering part of your body – either the hip or waist. In addition to defining your waist, a festive holiday belt adds a touch of sparkle to your dress or skirt. My go-to special occasion belt is an Obi style belt or stretch belt with a fancy buckle. For fun and flattery, try placing the buckle in the back as shown below.

Scarves
I love infinity scarves simply for their ease. There are endless ways to tie a scarf, but who has time for that? Pop on an infinity scarf and off you go, warm and stylish! If you’d like to know how to tie an oblong, infinity, blanket, wrap, and long infinity scarf, visit my YouTube tutorial, How to tie 5 DIfferent Scarves | HERE.
