Two years ago, with the encouragement of family and friends; AskSuzanneBell.com was launched. What began as a creative outlet, and compliment to my real estate business; has developed into something more fun and rewarding than I could have ever imagined. Thanks to you, my loyal readers, who tune in to my little space here on the web each week; AskSuzanneBell.com continues to grow and evolve – and I couldn’t be happier!
Caught up in just keeping the blog going, my 1st Anniversary blew by without a mention. Now, with things a bit more together; I bring you the post that I had planned to publish a year ago.
Thanks to Google Analytics; I know you love hearing about Nordstrom Sales, and what goes on in the dressing rooms at your favorite stores. You also enjoy browsing the Home Makeover section; a place where I feature homes, that my husband/business partner have renovated and sold; as a compliment to our on-going Real Estate business here in the Bay Area. What I Wore; continues to be popular, along with Outfit Posts, Styling Tips, Look for Less, Shoe Round-ups, and random this-and-that.
Of the 260 posts published over the past 2 years, a few stand out as favorites – and still to this day, are viewed regularly.

If you are new to Ask Suzanne Bell,
a look at where it all began, September 5, 2014.
For as far back as I can recall, I have been fascinated by the world of fashion. As a child, I would visit my grandmother, spending hours pouring over her gorgeous jewelry collection. I would study every piece; each with a story to tell. I would hold each treasure, taking in their beauty and sparkle, imagining where each piece had been; what fun times lie ahead in their future. Then, the shoes. My grandmother loved her shoes. I would slip a pair on, take a step back, and marvel at the most beautiful dresses, hung perfectly in her closet. The colors, textures and designs intrigued me. Each one so special and unique. My grandmother had the most incredible personal style. Now, at the age of 91, she still does. My grandmother exudes old Hollywood style. Elizabeth, who goes by the nickname Liz, was as fancy as Liz Taylor. Even in her pink curlers or pin curls, my grandmother was fabulous!
Great style is not about buying each and every latest trend; the magazines tell us we have to have. Anyone with a checkbook can do that. Great style is about adapting trends and making it your own. Personal style says, “Hey world, this is me and like it or not, I love it”. I believe as we age, our own style becomes more defined, as we become less concerned about what others think, more about what is right for us – the individual. Fashion is about self-expression, why not have some fun?…

Favorite Outfits/ Instagram
18 months ago, I jumped on the Instagram bandwagon. I love Instagram. It’s a fun way gain creative inspiration, and meet women worldwide, with similar likes; in the areas of fashion, home, garden, pets, vacation, style – anything you can imagine!
My very first Instagram Post.
A pair of Brian Atwood pumps; which got me 2 likes. Then again, I think I only had 2 followers – thank you both.
I remember the day I reached 100 Instagram followers; I was so excited – my kids even celebrated with me. Now with 1,469 followers and growing; I thank each and everyone of you for your support, likes, and comments!
Of my 748 Instagram postings, here’s a look at your favorites.
Your top pick?
Who’d know? It’s even a little blurry, with some dead grass in the background – but from the bottom of my heart, thanks for all the “likes” ladies!

Bloopers
Ask Suzanne Bell would not be possible without the iPhone, fun collage apps, patience, and the mad camera skills of my kids.
They have taken thousands of photos over the past 2 years; most of which never make it on to the website.
If it wasn’t fun, I’d stop doing it all together – but, these two cheer me on, make me laugh and smile, take photos even when I’m grumpy or sick, and capture impromptu moments.
They are each full of fun ideas, and know more about social media than I ever will.
To my biggest cheerleaders; I am forever grateful!
Most of the bloopers and bad photos are immediately dumped in the recycle bin, but a few were saved on my camera roll – here’s a look.
If you look closely, you’ll see little people’s feet, heads, smiles, and of course the forever photo bomber – our maltese Zoey.
Fun with my new iPhone remote
This next series features my son who’s quietly hiding; waiting for me to run in and change. I had no idea he was in the backyard. Once I am gone, he grabs the remote, takes a few poses (there were 10 of him in the original reel) – then, back into the bushes, where you see me retrieving the remote.
You can imagine my laughter, when I uploaded 100 or so photos this day- with this little skit right in the middle of the upload. We still laugh about this today.
I’ll save it for his wedding.
As many of you know, I work with my husband and business partner, Rick, at Alain Pinel Realtors in Los Altos.
Please keep us in mind if you have a personal need, or know someone looking to buy or sell a home.
In addition to assisting our clients in buying and selling homes, we have personally purchased and flipped more than 40 properties on our own account during the past several years.
When I launched Ask Suzanne Bell, I thought it would be fun to include a few of our more memorable flip properties for readers to check out. The Home Portfolio continues to be one of the most viewed pages on AskSuzanneBell.com. If you have not yet viewed this page, you can check it out HERE.
Once on the page (HERE), simply click on the home you’d like to view. A slideshow will appear, of before and after photos, taken from a few of our personal renovations.
One of my favorite projects was THIS home in Los Gatos.

Omg so sorry i have no idea what is going on with my Phone!
No worries! Happens to me all the time, see response below in comments 🙂
Hi Elizabeth! So that dress is darling! Being in Denver, you may need to add tights or leggings, but if the dress is navy that gets a little trickier? I would maybe pair a longer natural color Cardigan with it, taupe/grey tone short booties. You could also layer a thin long sleave cream tee (I saw some at H and M today). Make sure the tee is thin and sheer – the dress is light so your don’t want to go to heavy. Thanks for stopping by! xx
thanks suzanne. i may just try to keep it more for summer. great ideas. i need to get a good cardi with it. am in search now. i am so hesitant to take the plunge into booties bc i feel they wont look good on me-but time for a change! Appreciate what you post here and love following you, again. thank you!
Hi Elizabeth! You are welcome. It really is a cute dress. The thing about booties, is there is one for everyone this season. Key is to find one that is comfortable, a good heel height and color you like ( I think everyone can own a black bootie to wear with denim, dresses, skirts and more! The “height” on your leg can be adjusted by adding a black tight/legging, different lengths of socks…I really love the new mid-calf boot this season. I am putting together a bootie post for this coming weekend, so pop back and check it out. Let me know if you have other questions! xx
