Before we get rolling on today’s post, I want to check in and see how you all are doing on getting your closet’s ready for the upcoming season. If you need a nudge, I’ve got my step-by-step post on achieving the closet of your dreams, along with a short video from my Live From My Closet Video Series on how to purge items from your wardrobe that no longer suit your needs.

Ok, but how do I deal with those items I am emotionally attached to?
Perhaps you’ve cleared the space, but are still stuck with a few stragglers. Pieces you no longer wear, but you don’t know what to do with. Then click to view my Live From my Closet short video below, full of tips on how I part ways with the stragglers in my own closet.
New to Live From My Closet? LFMC is a video series I post to my Ask Suzanne Bell Facebook page every Sunday night. I invite you to follow me on my @AskSuzanne Facebook page and never miss a Live Post.
Tell me, what is your strategy for parting with emotional pieces in your wardrobe?
Fall Jacket Remix!
Now, can we just pause for a moment and take in the texture, color, and print of these pieces? I’m obsessed with this gold flecked olive green jacket with a look of foulard lining. I think the the blue and red cuff is a detail that makes the jacket look more expensive than it is. This deep red ostrich leather clutch, though vintage, works beautifully with the jacket.
The jacket ladies?
At $34.99, it’s proof you don’t have to break the bank to have fabulous personal style!
As you scroll down, you will see a second topper, a plaid tweed top coat, also under $40.00 from A New Day. The perfect California topper, as it is not lined. I’m guessing for colder areas this piece truly is a ‘top coat’, and you will need to layer under it for real warmth.
To illustrate the power of Wardrobe Remixing, I’ve paired this A New Day ‘Cropped Tweed Shine Jacket’ with my new navy blue staples from Uniqlo (read more in this post HERE), for an entirely different look. The total price of these 3 pieces – the jacket, tee and skirt is $65.00! I’d call that a big bang for your style buck!

Love the jacket, and that skirt is fantastic! Thanks for sharing these.
Thank you Cindy! I am loving jackets right now. Such an easy way to update your work or denim look! xx
Great video. all of your reasons for de-cluttering sit in one/more item in my closet..i’ve been procrastinating doing the “summer to fall” work that needs to be tackled. thanks for the nudge!!
Hi Bonbara! It’s hard to do, but I am always happy when I am done. I find when I resell the stragglers, they go quickly and I can then put them towards something I will actually wear! xx
I regularly clean my closets and give clothes away. However they are still ivercrowded. So hard to deal with.
Furthermore I think all your jackets and coAt and skirt in this post are SUPER! Love them. No other words for it.
