We have been blessed here in California, with some gorgeous weather the past few days! Truth be told, I was caught totally off guard, as the week prior was still wet and cold. With a closet full of cozy sweaters, denim, coats and long sleeves staring back at me, this past Friday I was forced to drag down my spring/summer items from storage and perform a quick closet switch out. I love bringing my off season items out of storage, it’s the thrill of a shopping spree, without having to spend a dime – as everything looks new again. Well, not everything. Some items clearly needed to be purged, so they were dealt with accordingly – but for the keepers, this was an opportunity to remix old pieces, and bring them back to life in a new way.

My mom gave me this Weston Wear (Anthropologie) skirt, once she was tired of wearing it as a dress. So is it a dress or skirt? I’m not really sure. She’s 5’2″, I’m 5’7″ – today it’s a skirt.
This blue leather jacket (also Anthropologie) has been in my closet for years, yet I never wear it. I’ll admit, it’s been on its way to the resale shop a couple of times, yet right before dropping it off, I rescue it. I loved how it came together with this dark grey ribbed tank from TopShop (an ASB Fave, HERE for $4.00-$10.00!)) – the dark pieces ground the print of the skirt.
The cropped styling of the jacket, adds some waist definition, to an otherwise pretty shapeless look.
Same goes for these Kork-Ease clogs – another favorite, but a sleeper in my closet. The 4″ heel was the perfect compliment to this long skirt/dress, which otherwise would have been dragging on the floor.
And let’s not forget the accessories!

Why Reset Your Closet for a New Season
I always recommend pulling all your clothing out of the closet (every piece!), to reset for a new season. By pulling everything out, I am forced to look at pieces with a fresh eye – remixing what is old and making things feel new again.

Hi Suzanne,
Not quite at wardrobe swap over yet, it’s very steamy here with lots of rain on the horizon but I have enough for those slightly cooler days!
I’m with you, I love doing the swap it makes me feel like I have a whole new wardrobe.
Hope you keep getting the sunshine!

Hi Helen! Thank you for stopping by! We have been lucky with the weather here as the rest of the country is pretty cold still. I’m still in the process of re-working – I’ll be sharing more in upcoming posts here. Enjoy the rest of your summer there, your photos look amazing!
