One of my favorite things about the weekend is the carefree vibe, a feeling that comes when we stop and take a pause from our busy weeks. What does that mean to me? Less makeup, flip flops and comfortable knits; pieces I can live and play in, with little effort. Think casual-weekend-chic vs sloppy. We all have at least one favorite tee. And did you know you can elevate your go-to knit with something as simple as a hair tie or rubber band? Hair ties can do wonders for shortening maxi dresses and skirts.

So what can a hair tie do for my t-shirt?
Today’s casual look began with this second-hand blue and white stripe midi skirt. This fun graphic ‘Amour’ tee was too long to wear un-tucked, and wasn’t working tucked-in with my short waist. A simple knot with a rubber band allowed me to tighten and position my tee, at a flattering spot the worked on my body. Someone else may find they prefer a cropped, longer or more blousy look – this happened to work for me. I say EXPERIMENT! Play around with the knot and tee until you are happy with the look. Viola! Add a pair of flip flops and I was ready to go. Anyone else loving navy blue polish right now? My blue polish is Opi “Boyfriend Jeans”, a fun twist from your go-to reds, pinks and corals for summertime. I’m loving blue polish with denim, chambray and white right now. It’s just polish people, give it a try!

Love this look for the weekend Suzanne. I am sharing this on my facebook page. I have a long skirt and an amour tee myself. I know exactly what you mean about the tuck on a top not looking just right. This is a great idea. I love the new blue polishes – especially a medium blue by Opi..cannot REMEMBER the color. I think it looks great on the toes for summer! xx
