Outside of chic loungewear and every version of Birkenstock, I can’t say I’ve been thrilled with what the fashion world has been offering up the past few years, but that’s finally changing.
I’m starting to see new silhouettes and fresh styles emerging, along with color (hello pink and green!), and if color feels to bold for you right now; all shades of white look fresh and new.

After a week of purging of pilled sweaters, faded tees, oversized lounge wear, pre-pandemic shrunken skinny jeans (ugh!) along with anything that brought on a feeling of Pandemic Living or just didn’t fit my body today, I’m happy to report that my closet is now in a workable state. There will always be some fine tuning that needs to take place, but at least my closet is clean and organized, I’m clear on what I own and my current Style Goals.

On to today’s post…
Some of today’s pieces I own, most I’ve tried on, here’s a look at 10 pieces to update your Spring Wardrobe this season.
1. BB Dakota by Steve Madden Orange Blossom Dress | ShopBop | $118.95
Sold out at Nordstrom and Zappos, a quick search brought up a full size run at ShopBop. Printed dresses are everywhere this season and I felt this midi length dress had so much style and I love the print. I have worn her with Birkenstocks and a denim jacket (no photo, but lots of compliments!), to moto boot and a leather moto jacket just this week!
A super versatile spring piece that looks more expensive than it is. I bought my regular size small that I would say fits like a true 4.
2. Clog Mules
I habe been searching for a pair of clog mule sandals to wear with jeans, boho-style dresses and skirts for at least 3 years, as I’ve been looking to replace a pair I own, that LOOKS fab, but is so uncomfortable. Lucky for me, clogs are super on trend this season, so I was able to order a few to try on. Props for comfort and styling, here’s a look at my top two. I was in search of a boho tan color, but these are both available in black as well.

Sam Edelman Josselyn Sandal (PRESS HERE)
A keeper for me, I loved the square toe and middle seam on this mule – it reminds me of the uncomfortable/much pricer mule from Veronica Beard. I found this mule to be super comfortable for a heeled sandal due to the padded footbed and platform style. I bought my regular size.

Kork-Ease Danika Mule (PRESS HERE). Super comfortable with a padded foot bed. This mule is only available in whole sizes and sadly I am a true 8.5. Shown here in a size 9, there is too much room in the toe bed, and the shoe was too wide. If this shoe fits for you, its about half the price of the Sam Edelman, and just as comfortable.
(THIS) clog from Sbicca, and (THIS) lower heel version, have a great 70’s vibe at a good price – but I have not personally tried it on.
3. Bold Print Blouse (ZARA)
Designed to be tucked in or out, I couldn’t resist the print this blouse, and the matching PJ Pant from ZARA. I’m loving (THIS) print as well
4. Bold Print Pant
Pack both of these pieces, along with a white linen pant, shirt, sandals and accessories – and you are set for a spring/summer weekend away!

5. Crossover Slide Sandal (now on sale!)

Kinda puffy (but not too much), with crossover styling, I love this slide from Veronica Beard. Now on sale at Nordstrom Rack in 4 colors (HERE). Ran TTS for me.
6. Cargo or Barrel Pant | 5 colors| HERE
A “tweener” take on the Barrel pant, (THIS) mid-rise version from Banana Republic is more flattering, than others I’ve tried on.

Available in 4 neutral colors plus a fabulous retro vibe zebra print (anyone else recall the 1990 Safari Vibe Banana Republic?), in regular, petite and tall sizing.
NOTE ON SIZING: I sized down a full size in this pant from my regular 4 to a 2R – and it fit like a 4R, and i never wear a 2.
7. Crisp Summer Dress (Anthropologie)

I wasn’t in the mood to purchase for spring/summer, when I tried the Somerset dress on back in January. And now I can’t decide which print to get! I actually really like it in black, as a v-neck black cotton midi dress can be a challenge to find. A great investment piece from Anthropologie.
Available in reg, petite and plus sizes| 8 colors with great reviews (Press HERE to read more)
8. Boho Dress (zara)

With all of the fun dresses out there right now, it can be difficult to pick just one. I can’t wait to style this with my white birkenstocks and straw hat when the weather heats up. Runs big, I did size down in this one.
9. Comfort is in! Birkenstock Madrid Slide (new colors now available!)
When this sandal came out 2 years ago, I couldn’t get my hand on a pair. After much stalking, I picked up a pair Spring ’21. Looks like I’m not the only one who loves this sandal as she is now available in 9 fun colors including pink! (CLICK HERE to browse).
10. New Pair of Sneakers | Nike Daybreak Sneaker

After seeing these on a friend, I rushed to order (THESE) 70’s inspired ( a re-make of the 1979 Tailwind sneaker), Nikes from Nordstrom in pale ivory. TTS, I love that they are low-profile with a retro vibe. Available in 15 retro colors, I bought my regular size.
Just in…
I’m also loving (THESE) fab lace-ups, just in from Birdies!
