Welcome back to an all new What I Wore: Rent the Runway, a new feature post where I share my RTR picks from the past month and how I styled them!
Last month I shared all that I learned while testing out Rent the Runway (RTR) Update in Rent The Runway Picks | February (HERE). After sharing my picks, I gave you a look into how I styled each piece back to items from my closet. With Rent the Runway Update, I am able to select 4 + items from RTR Update, to rent and wear at a cost of $89.00, for 30 days. No, I’m certainly NOT short of things to wear. Yet, I DO have items in my closet that I know I would get MORE use out of, if only I had “X” to wear with them. This is where RTR Update comes in handy. Before I place my monthly order, I look at my calendar to see what events I have coming up. Then, I take a look at my wardrobe to see if I have those events covered. If not, I make a note. Next, I survey any pieces I’d like to wear but don’t, because they are missing “that piece” to complete the outfit – and make a second note. I then take my “shopping list” to my closet and select items that will fill wardrobe voids, for the upcoming month.
Looking to mix things up and wear more of what you already own? Learn more about Rent the Runway Update, what I learned along with tips on how I use RTR Update to enhance my wardrobe, buy and shop less in my Rent the Runway Update Review (HERE).
NOTE: This is NOT a sponsored post with RTR. I just happen to like the RTR Update Program and wanted to share my honest experience with you all.
What I Rented: My Rent The Runway Picks | March-April
How I Styled My March-April Rent The Runway Picks
1.Most Worn Item: Chloe Passito Collins Cross Body Bag | Original Retail $495
I love the fact that for $23.00 a month I get to try out and wear a different handbag each month! Not only does it get me to step outside the box and try something new, after 30 days, I don’t have to store it!!
2. Second Most Worn Item: Derek Lam 10 Crosby Belted Jacket. Original Retail $695.00
A perfect transitional piece for work and beyond, this easy-to-wear belted jacket was a wardrobe workhorse for me. I wore it with everything from a pencil skirt, over a LBD as well as with black jeans. Derek Lam is a new brand for me and I love the fit and quality. I’ll be sure to look for this brand for future rentals.
3. Worn for 4 Occasions: Tory Burch Printed Silk Midi Dress. Original Retail $598.00
I was able to wear this dress for work and beyond. A super versatile piece, I received tons of compliments on this colorful spring dress.
4. Loved Trying This Piece: SEA Cici Midi Skirt. Original Retail $285.00
After trying this piece on in a boutique in Carmel, I was excited to be able to add it to my collection this past month. I loved the colorful print and styling of this skirt – but, realized after wearing it around a few times, that a high waist full skirt is not the most flattering silhouette on me, and I prefer a skirt that is slim at the hips on my rectangle shape. This skirt would be fabulous on an hourglass or pear shape!
5. Fab Piece To Throw On With High Waisted Jeans: The MiH Zig Zag Arlo Sweater. Original Price $285.00
6. I Wore It, But Have No Photos!? Monrow Vintage Camo Jacket. Original Price $198.00
A fun piece to throw on and go, I guess whenever I wore this fun jacket I was on the run. I love Camo print anything, and the stars added whimsy to this easy to wear piece! Actual jacket, bottom left, below.
