A closet full of clothes, yet nothing to wear?
Feeling totally uninspired, by what is staring back at you everyday?
For me, January marks the point in the year, where I tend to get a little stuck, in the inspiration department.
Each month, fabulous fashion bloggers of the world, offer up #StyleChallenges, on Instagram. This marks the ninth month, I’ve decided to participate in a few of these challenges.
For my October Outfits click HERE.
In the beginning, I was feeling a bit out of my comfort zone, getting dressed and posting a fun outfit every day, but I was willing to give it a try. I sought out challenges, that I thought fit my profile of a working mom, who loves fashion, style, color and accessories. I have discovered a world of creative women which I now follow, who inspire me on a daily basis with their fun outfits, ideas and fashion. Having a theme for each day forces me to dig into my closet, and work with items I own to create fun new outfits – remixing, was the best part!
At the beginning of each month, the person hosting the challenge, posts a list with 30 days of outfit ideas. From there, it is up to you to come up with your outfit, and post it to the style challenge hashtag on Instagram.
For more outfit ideas, follow me on Instagram (HERE), where I post daily.
Here is a look at the January Style Challenges, in the event you want to play along, or just need some daily inspiration.
What I love, is that you do not have to participate to be inspired – you can follow along, with an endless world of outfit ideas at your fingertips, posted by real people just trying to get up, and look stylish each day!
The past 2 months for me, were full of casual to party outfits, and everything in between.
Here’s a look at some of my favorite outfits, from November and December.
Leggings around town,
in the cold,
and with a poncho and booties.
work for any occasion.
My Fave Faux Fur Vest with Booties.
And Booties with Skirts.
Top it off with a crop fur jacket.
Notice a common thread here?
It would appear, my go-to, everyday winter look, consists of 4 easy pieces:
1.Legging or skinny jean
3.Sweater or poncho
4.Boots or booties
My winter uniform.
Do you have a winter uniform, one that works day to day – interchangeable pieces, that work together?
When I take a look at my closet, and all of it’s quirkiness, I find it interesting to see, what it is that I really wear – day to day. By taking photos and creating a style diary, it is easy to see which pieces are worth investing in, and what items I should spend my clothing budget on.
What pieces do you invest your shopping dollars on?
