Always in search of better, more comfortable options for what to wear underneath my clothing, I’ll search the Blogosphere for tips and ideas. But, to be honest, I usually come up with very few suggestions, as most bloggers and influencers would rather talk about and share, what we wear OVER vs. UNDER our garments. I was thrilled, when as a group, the ladies of Stylish Monday, decided to share their favorite under pinnings, for our May blogger collaboration.
From no-show and period panties, to bralettes, COMFORTABLE strapless bra options, slips and more – read on for what WE wear under it all in an all new Stylish Monday round-up. And after you check out what this months participants have to say about their own foundation picks, we invite you to browse and join our monthly link up party at the bottom of todays post. Let’s take a look!
My Picks:
Having the “correct” undergarments on hand can make the difference between an article of clothing getting worn or not, especially in the summer months, when shoulders are bare, and pants, dresses & skirts are more revealing, more sheer, and less forgiving – like in the outfit I am wearing below. Here’s a look at my top 4 undergarments.
1. The Sexy Illusions Strapless Bra by Victoria’s Secret can be worn six different ways for coverage under any top or dress. Featuring non-slip cups & smoothing band, this bra offers added support while staying in place. Available “lightly -lined” (PRESS HERE) and as a push up (PRESS HERE).
2. The Warners Easy Does It Bra is my tank top friendly, “no side boob” , everyday bra. Available at a great value price at Amazon, this wireless bra is designed with all-over stretch fabric to fit your unique shape and easy, versatile sizing from XS-3X simplifies bra shopping once and for all. To learn more (PRESS HERE).
I alternate the Easy Does It Bra with Warner’s Cloud 9 Super Soft, Smooth Invisible Look wireless, lightly lined comfort bra. I ordered both of these based on a recommendation, and ended up keep both. Learn more (HERE).
3. It’s difficult to find no show (panty lines) COTTON panties, but Vanishing Edge Cotton Blend High Leg Panty from Soma hits the mark. The patented Vanishing Edge technology with stay-put silicone at the leg openings keeps panties in place without panty lines. Now 5/$35, to learn more (PRESS HERE).
4. A high waisted brief will help smooth and hide lumps and bumps, when wearing summer dresses, skirts and pants, and the wide toning waistband on the Hanes Premium Smoothing Seamless High Cut Brief, looks as seamless as it feels under clothes. Available in a 3 pack from Target (PRESS HERE).Be sure to look for the pack with the toning waistband (see below)
About my one shoulder ruffle top
I had a few requests today about the details of my one-shoulder ruffle top. My exact top is an older style by Cuyana, but I found 3 similar tops, including one under $20 from target, if you’d like to try this trend.

Summer is right around the corner (I hope!), which means I’ll be wearing more bare shoulder looks. Finding the right fitting, comfortable strapless bra is such a challenge! I’ve found the perfect one that fits all sizes, is super comfy and stays in place all day long! I’ll also be wearing all the white shorts, jeans, pants and am sharing the perfect undies that are comfy, add a little tummy control and don’t show through! Winning on two accounts!!
Nicole – High Latitude Style
Call me a prude if you want, but I have a medium size collection of old-school half-slips and slips. They are great to stay a bit warmer in winter, and avoid that cheap trendy summer dresses look cheap. Adding a half-slip or slip underneath gives them the look as having a lining when you are standing between the Sun and an on-viewer.
Shelbee – Shelbee on the Edge
“Period panties were a strange concept to me at first. But now in perimenopause, I am finding them most beneficial. I am reviewing my first pairs on the blog today.”
Ada – Elegance and Mommyhood
I have always loved lace tops and camisoles and this year more than before they are really trending. The lingerie style garments are so stylish right now, like the millennial pink cropped camisole I am wearing (you can find them at Express). I wore mine over the infamous lace Free People bralette (mine is a neutral soft grey color and it goes with everything). With warmer months coming up, wearing bralettes, lace camisoles or lace-trimmed camis is a great idea to layer underneath your Summer dresses, sundresses, or even under tank tops and jackets, cardigans or blazers when you are indoors with the heavy air conditioner blowing.

I couldn’t agree more Shelbee! I already ordered Julies strapless bra and I am headed over to check out your post shortly. I believe we can never have enough ideas on COMFORTABLE and FUNCTIONAL and SUPPORTIVE garments to wear UNDER our clothes!

Our pleasure. Thank you for stopping by and linking up with Stylish Monday!

I love the high cut too- it’s so much better for tucking it all in-especially if in comfort. The bra idea with no side boob is another winner for me. Great post Suzanne- thanks!
Hi Lucy! Thanks again for sharing our collaboration on your blog, that is so very generous of you. And yes to the high cut brief. Everyday, I prefer a lower cut, but you cannot beat a brief when wearing skirts or dresses – it just keeps everything in place if you know what I mean, which in the end, makes me feel more confident!

Suzanne!
I always love your style and seeing how you’ve interpreted our monthly themes! We obviously agree on the panties! Soma Vanishing Edge is the only ones I purchase and wear every day! I think I need the ruffled one shoulder top that you’ve shared! Now to decide which color I’d like!
Julie xo
Hi Julie! Like you, I cannot recommend the Soma vanishing edge enough. Not only does it not show through with a many line, but I love how it stays in place. Did you see the ruffle top is also available at Target, what a steal! Your fave strapless bra arrives at my doorstep this week, Im excited to give it a try~
