We’ve all been handed our share of lemons over the past few weeks, some of us more than others. And we adjust. It’s what humans do. When the going gets tough, we push through and make lemonade.
For me, lemons bring up fond memories of time spent on the Italian Coast. When booking our family trip to Italy this past summer, I selected the Hotel Marina (VIEW HERE) in Monterosso based solely on the fact they served Happy Hour and breakfast in their charming rooftop lemon garden. Like the Italians, I love to cook, eat and decorate with lemons. And if you share a similar passion for this cute yellow citrus, I invite you to check out my latest Pinterest Board featuring over 70 pins, dedicated to all things lemon (VIEW MY CURATED BOARD HERE). My signature cocktail? The Lemon Drop Martini. I’m obsessed with the citrusy lemongrass scent of (THIS) facial scrub. When I need a little kick in my step, I wear the color yellow. Fun Fact; the first pair of shoes I “splurged on” as a teenager, was a pair of yellow 9 West ballet flats from Nordstrom.
Today’s post is dedicated to my friends in Italy, who year after year welcome weary travelers from around the globe with open arms, inviting us to experience and enjoy ” La Dolce Vita”, thru their people, art, food, music, and handicraft.
Al nostro prossimo incontro (till we meet again)...let’s talk lemons, the happiest fruit on the planet.
Lemon Drop Martini
“I believe that if life hands you lemons, you should make some lemonade…And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party” – Ron White
Best shaken, with fresh squeezed lemon juice, apparently Oprah and I share a common love of the Lemon Drop Martini…
My Favorite Face Scrub

Wear Your Lemons
Back in my days as a store manager at Nordstrom, back when 2 piece matching suits were a thing, scarves were my go-to accessory. My curated scarf collection included everything from bold graphic designs to simple polka dots. But my all time favorite scarf, was a black silk square style, covered in bright yellow lemons. My happy scarf, I wore it whenever I needed a little extra kick in my step. Known for their “happy prints”, here’s a peek at a few of my favorites from the Boden Lemon Fruit Print Collection:

Lemons in the Kitchen
Breakfast breads have become an every day staple in our home. This week I was blessed with an abundance of lemons, along with a bag of Poppy Seeds in my weekly grocery box from Imperfect Foods. Made with Greek yogurt and topped with lemon glaze, (THIS) Easy Lemon Poppy Seed Bread was a huge hit with my crew!
