Truth be told, while the rest of the country is under snow and rain, we Californian’s have it pretty mild when it comes to weather, a top coat rarely required. That said, layering is essential in any weather condition, if not for warmth, to remix our looks and keep things interesting till springtime.
Today’s look began with the same essential piece, a basic creamy white silk blouse with a bell sleeve twist. I hate bulky layers so a slightly fitted, quality silk blouse like the one I am wearing today, offers endless layering options and feels as if you are wearing nothing. Next, layer on your classic pieces. In this case, a pair of knit flare pants and sleeveless mock neck sweater will take me just about anywhere. With the foundation set, layer on a top coat, wrap, tweed jacket – whatever your heart desires…accessories add icing to the cake!
Today’s Wide Cuff Blouse is a sand washed crepe de chine silk, was selected by me and kindly gifted from Lilysilk. As with any gifted item, I only share items on AskSuzanneBell.com that I love and would recommend to a girlfriend and wear myself. All opinions and reviews are entirel my own. My blouse is currently on sale, and with my promo code, ‘asksuzannebell16′ you will get an extra 16% off site wide if you are in the market for an item such as this, or countless other gorgeous silk pieces available from the vast selection over at Lilysilk. I would say it runs true to size or a tad small. I am wearing a size small, which fits perfectly. For reference I wear a 4 or small in blouses, sometimes a 6. I would say if you are a true 6 you may want to consider sizing up as I do have narrow shoulders. A size guide with measurements, for each item is available on the Lilysilk site to view. New to Lilysilk?
The idea of Lilysilk was conceived by Lily Lin in January 2010, 6 months after she returned from France to China. Having worked in the silk industry in France for over a decade, Lily felt that it was unfair how the retailers were taking the bulk of the profit while customers had to pay an extra sum and silk workers lived in relative poverty. The idea of a direct online outlet that connects Chinese silk masters and Western silk enthusiasts was put into action after a few months of discussion. Lily convinced her husband Mike and some friends to join her venture, and became the first CEO of the company, and the rest is history. Read more…(HERE)
